ReplyMy whole time in my life (60 years so far), only once I have needed to call the police. Someone broke into my car to steal my daughter’s coat. I found this when I went to my car in the morning at around 7am. I called the police and they said they would send someone ASAP. At 10am no one came and I called again and again was told someone on the way. At 1pm I had to go to work and get my window fixed, called again and again was told someone was coming. As I drove down the road from my home there sat a cop car in a speed trap! I suspect he knew about my call because he clearly saw my broken side window and didn’t stop me.
My nephew is a cop. He told our family that officially they don’t have quotas, but if he’s low on giving out tickets his captain will speak privately to him about it. Cities rely on the cops to basically fund them.
