How to establish and maintain a tyranny? Well, first you have to keep the people ignorant and uneducated, and if you can also make them religious, that would be even better.

Removing Helen Keller from Texan history textbooks is a virtual crime. Keller’s life story is immensely powerful and made a huge impression on me as a kid. Then as a college student, I found out that she grew up to have very strong (and radical) political ideas and wrote highly eloquent and moving essays. But apparently educational authorities in Texas can’t have any of that.

Y’know, if the History books don’t mention Hillary Clinton and how she was Trump’s opponent during the 2016 election, it’s going to seem like Trump ran unopposed and still lost the popular vote.

To be honest, I’d believe that.

Republicans might actually think that teaching kids the government is supposed to provide services to the general public (not just the military industrial complex & big money interests) would plant the seeds of socialism.

What the hell do they have against Eleanor Roosevelt? Oh right, she spent her life fighting for civil liberties and human rights, even when Franklin was waffling because he didn’t want to piss off Southern racists. She was literally everything the current GOP is against: An outspoken bisexual politically active woman who sincerely valued humanity and worked to better it rather than just give lip service to “thoughts and prayers.”

Alice was kind of a bitch though.

Downright criminal. How can it even be allowed?
Cherry pick history, distort the past, keep them under educated and ignorant and easily manipulable. Of course.

Removing Helen Keller, didn’t see that one coming? neither did she! “Tyranny cannot defeat the power of ideas.”~ Helen Keller.

Now I am sure that when a state actually tries to erase history in education itself instead of removing a few cheap statues put up by the Klan to celebrate traiterous racists, the conservatives will be even more outraged with their whole thing of “You cant just erase history”.

Oh wait, I forgot, american conservatives are among the worst kinds of hypocritical and scummy people in this world.
