Conservatives in America have a habit of citing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to score a variety of political points. Some have even used his words to undermine antiracist education and critical race theory. In this episode, Dr. Ibram X. Kendi and Daily Show writer Randall Otis join host Roy Wood, Jr. to discuss how conservatives pervert MLK’s words, why he’s so central to America’s civil rights education, and how to properly honor his legacy. #DailyShow #BeyondTheScenes

As soon as liberals stop trying to unravel what MLK fought for I don’t want to here how conservatives are misquoting him
ReplyThey do it on purpose. They like twisting the knife or pouring salt on the wound.
ReplyOh yes Bunch of black guys in the left payroll
ReplyMartin Luther King Jr would be disappointed if he were here today
ReplyStop spreading far left Propoganda
ReplyDr. Kendi: Not only was he against the Vietnam War but in his speech he mentioned that the United States government is the greatest purveyor of violence on the face of the Earth
ReplyMe: they get involved in things they shouldn’t get involved in that’s why. Hence so many wars. History is looking at America in shame and shaking it’s head
The daughters of the confederacy approved most of the textbooks that a lot of what we learned came from. They are basically a kinda female KKK and keeping people ignorant of the accomplishments of POC and portraying white people as heros (all the time) was the entire point. This was planned and it was a super effective way to twist history.
ReplyWe must never judge anyone by the content of their character.
ReplyTo be honest the white supremacists always want to show MLK as docile black man. The non-violence weak person
ReplyThat be true
ReplyFBI is probably the most hypocritical organization that I know of because they were against the black Panthers and Martin Luther King Junior and others but you see all of a sudden they start taking it seriously. they are the last people to talk. Now I get that between the members of FBI back then and now are different and there are shifting mentalities but still you gotta acknowledge your past at least if you’re going to shout him out on MLK Day. It’s like when celebrities get canceled for something they did in the past you gotta acknowledge it and then move on.
ReplyThat’s a shame, this video should have far more likes and views. Thank you Roy and Doctor for all the information and nuance.
ReplyThank you Mr. Compton ^^ you helped to motivate a Pomona kid in Cali ^^^
