If there’s one thing we’ve learned from horror movies, it’s to always expect the worst. So when it comes to the 2020 election, voting Trump out of office won’t be enough to save our country. We have to also get rid of the monsters that lurk down the ballot! #ExpectTheWorst

Hey everyone, if you care about giving everyone healthcare:
We must stop using the phrase “pre-existing conditions” entirely because it was thought up by, and reinforces, insurance company thinking (and ultimately health is too important to be up to for-profit entities).

Instead, they are *chronic* (defn: ongoing, not acute) conditions, and should be referred to as *chronic* or *ongoing* conditions.

Because *most people,* especially with age, have ongoing (chronic) conditions–it’s *normal,* part of life, and why we need cradle-to-grave care. “Pre-existing conditions” is an insurance term used to demonize and deny care whenever possible, because they only care about profits. Medical expenses are STILL the #1 cause of bankruptcy.

De-stigmatize health needs–the language we use matters in this. Use language that reinforces that we ALL have health needs, and that health is a *human right.* Use “chronic” or “ongoing,” not “pre-existing.” Until we have universal healthcare UNLINKED from eployment status.

    Thanks, everyone.
