ReplyThere was no reason for AL to be booted out of the Senate. It was only because Kirsten Gillibrand thought making AL a sacrificial lamb would raise her visibility and political success. It didn’t; deservedly so.
ReplyIf we all, including corporations; were taxed at a simple ten percent, without loopholes or deductions , we could ditch the audit altogether. Just move that decimal point one place to the left; and done! This would eliminate tax fraud, cash flight, and perhaps on the negative side, the jobs of eleven million people working for the IRS, whose salaries would be eliminated and would also practically double the take for the Feds. The arcane construction of our tax system not only makes it imperitive to use a CPA, it makes the job of the auditor as complex as the CPA’s. Hoisted by its own petard, the system can no longer manage its miscreants; so I”m begging anyone with influence to consider my formula. Corportions who presently can wiggle out of every dime; would under this formula; be paying billions as a group ; plus, for those fanatics on the Right, it’s in the Bible: Isiaiah, 12/1; something about sheep.
