You think Ted Cruz would have learned from Rick Perry’s epic blunder

We need more welders and less philosophers = Maybe if more people stop
thinking I’ll actually have a chance of being elected

Ted Cruz made the same mistakes Rick Perry did. You would think he would
learn. Making our state look bad, smh.

Lmao. Philosophers have lasting effects on society to this day and are some
of the smartest people to live. Welders… can probably be replaced by
    robots.

And how many actually get a job using their education in philosophy as
    opposed to welders? Right…

If only people paid more attention to Rand Paul. He actually did a solid
    job last night.

I have a feeling that the race between the democrats is going to be the
race for the Presidency ! The GOP is starting to feel like a reality show !

The best part of Ted Cruz’s mixup is that the 5th department he would cut
    was education…

man the conservative party! can you imagine if during the cold war they
idolized the leader of the USSR. I guess now the old KGB man Putin is
solidly a capitalist- even Chicago school- oligarchy- yea- that is the
capitalism we want! And lets get rid of those fags too- this is why the
    conservatives like Russia now?

“Like the candidates last night, I have a random collection of
half-informed thoughts I want to share with you”

I love how Stephen tries to remain neutral yet can’t help but slide back
    into mocking the GOP 😛

NB: Nothing wrong though IMO as reportage is meant to be objective, not
    neutral.

Gaffe aside, Ted Cruz is right that entire cabinet departments need to be
abolished. The IRS, Commerce, HUD, Energy & Education can go and we should
simplify taxes into a flat tax with zero loopholes so that a CEO never pays
less than his secretary. 6 of the 10 wealthiest counties in America are
around DC. Let people keep more of their own money instead of sending it to
    the corrupt establishment in Washington.

I don’t know why Stephen didn’t mention that Trump and Putin *were* both on
60 minutes on the same night,
but in different locations and being interviewed by different hosts.
They weren’t even in the same country.
Trump just imagined that he met Putin and that they got along really well.
How on earth does anyone trust this man?

Congratulations, Cruz. You have made top stupidity by stating that you
would eliminate the only part of government that collects taxes and the one
that helps create jobs. But could we expect any better from someone brash
enough to filibuster the Affordable Care Act for a day instead of, you
    know, IMPROVING IT?

How the f a philosophy major make more than a welder?

    Reply
  • geese man 4 years ago

Philosophers make more money than welders… while that may be true, when’s
the last time you’ve met someone who says, “I work as a philosopher”? Rubio
should have phrased that better (i.e., “There are more well paying welder
jobs than there are for philosophers”) and Colbert should stop bashing with
    half truths. Funny, tho.

Hearing GOP candidates speak kills my brain cells. It explains why those
that have listened to them for an extended period of time buy into their
    bullshit.

    Reply
  • VinceMoroe 4 years ago

This is why I distrust the media. Don’t get me wrong, I like Colbert, but
every talk show that discussed the debate left out Rand Paul, who easily
had the best points. I thought Colbert was definitely going to make fun of
Trump for stating that China was part of TPP, to which Rand corrected him.
They’ll probably blackball Colbert anyways if he mentions Rand in a
    positive light.

Ted Cruz is stupid, you cannot eliminate the IRS! 90% of the Federal
Government’s Income comes from TAXES!!! You need a Federal Agency to
collect said Taxes! Also, if you lower the tax to 10% across the board
(like some candidates suggested) there is NO WAY that the Federal
Government could pay for its expenses since it’s 40% now (top tax) and the
US Government is Running a Deficit Currently (10% means they would have a
    SUPER Deficit)!!!
