For all those wondering why the Daily show isn’t covering the war in Ukraine, I have a theory. It’s certainly not because they don’t care , and I don’t think its Trevor’s personal choice not to cover it, but my belief is that the higher higher ups don’t want him to yet, the daily show is supposed to be a comedic news channel, you receive news, but comedy is thrown in here and there to lighten the mood, and make the news overall more entertaining and less serious, but with what is happening in Ukraine along with the uncertainty, there is nothing funny about the situation, in addition the way the daily show normally broadcast its news stories are in short summaries of the situation and then onto the next story, the situation in Ukraine is not simply a topic than can be mentioned for 5 minutes and then glossed over for another story, hence why I think that at least for now, the daily show is choosing to let the more serious news channels cover it.
