No mention of Barry Seal? Check out Daniel Hopsicker – he made documentaries about Barry Seal. He’s the Mena Ak dude. He worked for the Bush dynasty but got the Clinton ok also. Barry Seal was probably the bigger smuggler – and was not a “foreigner”

Portugal decriminalized all drugs and treated possession with treatment. Things have to be pretty systemic to get to that point, and they were. Things are better, and hopefully continue.
The question is what your end goal is- reducing addiction, or punishing victims? Are we trying to help the people or are we trying to protect “our people” from “those people”. The intent of regulation should be one based on empathy over judgement and solution over punishment. Addicts are already suffering.

    I am Black.
    I am a woman.
    I never used crack.
I never dated a drug dealer.
My friends who are also Black became police officers, Bank Presidents and Marines. I myself became an Executive Assistant at a Big 4 Accounting Firm.
    I don’t have a degree.
I have never owned a Mercedes Benz nor would want one.
    I have no jewelry.
I have a healthy savings account and will retire soon.
    I vote every election.
    I ran for city council.
I raised a son who has been married 12 years. My grandchildren are raised with their mother and father. My daughter in law is a homemaker with a GED. She is also Black. There are no news, stats or police brutality directed towards us. We are invisible and ignorred by all criminals, media and government officials. Our lifestyle, values and scruples are not promoted nor publicized. What’s wrong with this picture?? America was built on misery, thievery, cruelty and pain. Don’t you think it’s time to change how we go forward? I think so too.

Yes, let’s look at “the media,” as in the Tabloid Media, because they’re all tabloid.

I just watched this documentary & I grew up on the South Side of Chicago and I remember the people & the police. This is why some don’t trust the police. Will never forget.
