Have Boehner ever seen John Oliver’s poems about Ted Cruz? I’m pretty sure he’d love them.

It’s a comment on the state of politics right now that each side see the other as a group of ignorant, brainwashed fools and see themselves as informed, intelligent and free thinking.

Stephen, I love your show. I am disappointed that you are giving the two bit hack the time of day let alone a platform to promote himself. This is a guy who didn’t have the courage to stand up for his own principles when he had the chance. He didn’t care about the fate of the the country or anything but himself. He is a spineless coward who didn’t lift a finger to do what was right no matter how many chances he got to do so. He was in no way a leader as he has always lacked the will and character to be a leader. At the end, he got chased out of congress in shame with his tail between his legs. Just because he says he has some regrets or has some points of agreement does not mean he should have a platform to promote his merch.

Say anything about the current crowd of insane Republicans, it’s all true and I advise them to do what Boehner advised Cruz to do to himself. I could always deal with old style “country club” Republicans, including guys like Boehner who pulled themselves up into the club. We disagree, we still invite them to BBQs and so on. Politics isn’t a death-match among neighbors at least it doesn’t need to be.

Never understood why anyone would want to be in politics, never mind President. Who needs “power” when it appears you have to leave your soul at the door to have it? That he voted for Trump doesn’t surprise. Republicans more than Democrats will vote their party even if they can’t stand the person running. My mom always brings this up about Reagan and how all the guys at the engineering firm she worked at couldn’t stand Reagan but they voted for him anyway. As for Boehner being responsible for the rise of Trump and the other loons, it supposedly started with Newt Gingrich. The rise of the Tea Party and the inability for either party to negotiate to actually pass any real legislation started when Clinton was impeached.

I can’t tell if John Boehner is completely serious in this entire thing (whole interview, including last clip), or if he just has an incredible poker face

I’m of two minds when it comes to interview like this (Anthony Scaramouche, Omarosa, Chris Christie, this guy). On the one hand, you want to hear about the inner workings of the last presidency, or about the far right. On the other hand, interviewing them increases publicity of whatever they’re peddling (usually a book), and no doubt just earns them more money (and they’re all filthy rich to begin with). Plus, while they may have turned anti-the-last-guy, they still stick by the heinous decisions, policies and bills they had a part in passing while they had the opportunity. Yes, Boehner calls Ted Cruz Lucifer incarnate, hahahah, we all have a good laugh, very funny. But what about all the crap Boehner pulled during his time in politics (to read about Boehner’s history, just read all the previous posts below this). Boehner cussing out Ted Cruze doesn’t absolve him of his own dickishness. So I don’t really see what purpose interviews like these serve.

Like, do politicians really think the public is that stupid?

Boehner is sauced. Cigarettes or the booze will get him soon (as a medical professional I give him 18mths to 2 years. I can see it in his eyes). I, for one, will not be shedding a tear on his passing. He did much wrong and his “mea culpa” of-sorts memoir is like many ex-hill GOPers before him – too little, too late. Bury him next to his pal Newt.
