In Singapore they have raised the smoking age from 18 to 21 over 3 years. Increasing it by a year every year. I guess they are trying to “phase” it out. Create a generational gap, since data shows you’re far more unlikely to take up smoking later in life. I wonder if it will work.

ReplyThe late Chancellor of Germany, Helmut Schmidt, was famous for smoking menthol cigarettes. They got banned in Europe when he was about 94 so he bought a stockpile to have enough to continue smoking till he turns 100. He died age 97.
