A time when you could disagree with a political figure or your neighbor without them being your mortal enemy….. A bygone era that is deeply missed by many in the world. Rest in power Senator Dole. Thank you for your 70 years of selfless public service and for making sure that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA 1990) became law and stayed the law.

By the way I’m a progressive independent but I can still find room in my heart and compassion for this man because unlike our current elected officials, he always did what he thought was the right thing. Today our elected officials act in tandem with what their pollsters tell them and what their donors tell them to do. Senator Dole is a senator of an era that has passed us by in American politics – and I hope we can once again return to civil discourse in our politics.

Norm made fun of Bob Doyle for being old, yet Bob outlived him just a little longer so he could have the last laugh. RIP Norm and Bob

We used to enjoy David Letterman’s recurring segment, “How old is Bob Dole?” And he lived for so much longer!

And now he is in Heaven with Norm.
Or maybe they are both in Hell, where demons gnaw at their flesh and the agonies of the damned never cease. Either way, they will both be missed.

I’m not sure why we celebrate or even focus on politicians in any way. It’s like promoting salesmen on a used car lot…

I could care less that he died.

No politician ever had a better sense of humor than Bob Dole. My favorite Dole joke was his response to seeing Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, and Richard Nixon together at an event. Dole cracked, “It’s See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Evil.”

“Our role is the loyal opposition, our job is not to obstruct the President, that is not the job of the Republican Party.” Now think on the Republican Party of the last thirteen years, primarily Obstructionists all this time. SHAME ON THEM.
