Sacha Baron Cohen is such a dream of a man… he’s so reflected and
smart… has such a beautiful big heart… his work helps so much in
exposing the ridiculousness of all that infantile hate and greed… all
that weird ignorance about seemingly obvious things… and he puts so
much into his work… and on top of that he’s so(!) funny and if that
    wasn’t all enough he’s also sexy. damn….

He never had to go out of his way to do what he thinks is right to do.He could have been far more selfish, given his privately-educated background. He is a great and talented performer. His books , the Ali G and Borat ones, are hilarious still.

I am impressed that a young one like Seth knows about Abbie Hoffman, one of my heroes. Read Revolution for The Hell of It. Yippee!

I live in MS now and made the mistake of watching the Abbie Hoffman film in the presence of locals so I missed half of the dialogue while listening to conservative-blowhard-y rhetoric, but Sasha’s characterisation was incredible! There’s method AND madness behind his work–sort of a modern Peter Sellers.

I also went to clown school. It was really in tents! Clown schools are more in tents than most people realize. The in tents training is grueling and is obviously rain or shine mostly dealing with short bursts of water from oversized fake lapel flowers and a bop on the head but in tents none the less! Clowns who graduate may go on to enjoy a larger more in tents career but most will likely drop out and go on to boxing.

“I never really wanted to do another Borat movie and then Donald T***p came along…” When T***p is the reason to bring back a character you didn’t want to revive, it says something!

Cohen is the reincarnation of Andy Kaufmann — nobody has been that kind of provocateur since Andy did his schtick of the joke being on the audience.

It’s not that I blame Cohen for choosing to stop portraying Borat over safety concerns… but unfortunately, he’s just not that funny or interesting when he’s not making real-life people extremely uncomfortable. That’s the secret of his comedy. It might be the “right decision,” but R.I.P. Sacha Baron Cohen’s comedy career.

That was a pretty cool interview. I only know about foxhunts in England because some children’s film I’d seen as a kid had one in it. If I had seen them in real life, I might have put on a fake moustache and talked with a Kazikstani accent too.

I enjoy Cohen’s work but there is a certain mean-spiritedness that informs some of it. Many of the ‘normal’ folks who got caught up in the web of his latest movie weren’t any more responsible for the mess in this country than he would claim to be. Guiliani earned the scorn he’s getting, however he has a lot of power and unchecked privilege.
