Robert Duval ‘s speech is the core of Network rather than Howard Beale ‘s ranting
& racing . Although it is wonderful .

Colbert is overthinking and wants acting to be so complicated and difficult. Duvall is just like, “It’s pretty simple.”

Its so refreshing to see Mr Robert Duvall speaking his mind without pretentions. People of that generation were made men, they don’t cover for political correctness. They speak real, deep, simple n clear.

0:03 It really spruces things up when the band coordinate their outfits like this in a black/ white motif.

I wish that these two were having a cup of coffee, or tea, together. It would make it more homey, and less like an interview. It seems a bit rigid.

6:40 Close to your nature and not try to over do it, I think is what Mr. Duvall meant to say.

“Godfather I”, “Godfather II”, “To Kill A Mockingbird”, “M*A*S*H”, “Captain Newman M.D.”, “Tender Mercies”, “Network”, “Apocalypse Now” – most actors dream of playing Robert Duval’s part as well as he did in just ONE of these movies! He’s appreciated, but considering his body of work, underappreciated. One of the greatest of all time. He’s right up there with his idol Brando.

Duvall’s best scene is in GodFather II when he asked Pacino, ” Why do you hurt me Michael?” Duvall is so amazing and subtle and real. Can’t go wrong if he’s in the film.
