ReplyAlso on the topic of communication, for everyone, there is a technique couple’s counselors use where after the 1st person speaks, before the 2nd person responds, the therapists asks them what did they hear? Because people infer things, or decide they know what meaning to attach to what they heard, but when they are wrong, the conversation can go sideways because they react to what they interpreted, but not to what was meant & they begin to argue about 2 different things. Is ok to say “I hear that you are saying this” & then ask the person if that was right or not. Make sure you’re really on the same page before continuing.
