ReplyThe FACT is that it is NOT half the country that thinks it was a peaceful protest. It isn’t even 30%. There is a false perception of an equivalency. I’ve visited the Capitol 3 times in my life and it NEVER looked like that. One of the days was the day Obamacare was up for a vote. There were certainly protestors around that day…. but no violence like was seen 1/6. Many of the same kinds of voters were there that day… but they did nothing violent and there was no trespassing.The difference was the ex-President and his posse were calling for people literally fight to keep him in office no matter what the constitution said. THAT was a rebellion called for by him. There must be accountability for this. It was a rogue Republican this time. If he isn’t made accountable then another President (of any party) may try it again.
