As a Swiss citizen I know plenty of people who own fire guns. After having served to Swiss army you normally get a machine gun for defense with the obligation to keep it under closure. And everyone who “owns” such gear keeps and stores it with extreme caution. No one of them would ever hand over guns to their children, and most Swiss people just aren’t familiar with heavy armory. We don’t have gangs to defend against, and no remarkable drug criminalty. And – contrary to other countries – it’s pretty difficult to get a hunting permission. But even if you get one you’ll have to pay for every single kill. Makes it quite uninteresting to have fire guns unless your intention is to store them.

Switzerland hasn’t been in danger of being invaded for a long time. Even the Nazis did not do it. The Swiss national myth claims, that this was because of the unique Swiss Defensiveness. That’s BS. Swiss was invade by the Nazis, because the Nazis needed it’s banking for washing money and trading robbed gold while it’s trading connections were used to get embargoed goods and natural resources. After WWII there were several great scandals about Nazi fortunes, but the real scandal happened when they tried whatever possible to keep the hundreds of millions Dollars from “lost” Jewish accounts. No, Swiss was never in danger of being invaded.

Remember guns do not kill, it requires a finger on the trigger to shoot the bullet. Children need to be taught guns are not toys. My son was not even allowed to point a water pistol at a living being. He was taught the proper way to shoot a BB gun starting in kindergarten. I wasn’t allowed to operate a hand gun until I could break it down and reassemble – we were taught respect for life and guns. When not in use, guns were locked away out of the reach of children and teens, never loaded and ammo kept separate. You were never allowed o shoot an animal unless you were going to eat it. My town has annual gun education classes for kids. I took such a class in grade school in the 60’s and helped teach one in the 70’s. People with mental isssues should not be allowed access to guns or to watch violent tv shows or video games which distort reality.

The pharmaceutical companies in the USA bribe (Lobby) our government to raise their prices and rip off people, that is the American way. Health care system in our country is badly broken. You shouldn’t rip off sick people, but we need to fix our diet and stop the ob’s and have healthier Americans, so they don’t need all these drugs.

I live in Detroit Michigan we can take the tunnel and be in Canada in 5 minutes from downtown. I go at least four or five times a year. I love it over there. Peaceful, kind, quiet, no violence, low crime, low racism. Not being followed around in stores as I shop… it’s an oasis!
Now, because of the Trump Virus, the border is closed. so sad.
I vacationed in Niagara Falls in 2010. The lead breaking news story was a man fell asleep while driving and crashed his car into someone’s home. wow.
