1:09 can someone tell me what team that person is playing for? Cause I see the Czech and Dutch flag, which alone is odd…

@TDS: Tell your graphics person that the land mass shown at 2:49 is Ontario — one province of Canada, not the entire nation of Canada. Please do better. Thanks.

It was originally the deaths of the migrant workers and their often appalling treatment and accommodation, etc. that was the focus of the concern about Qatar as tournaments hosts. Since the tournament started the LGBTQ rights have become more prominent. FIFA’s …..clears throat…..credibility has remained a constant concern. A typical World Cup is bad enough in terms of corruption and the diversion of resources to building infrastructure, etc., when that money could be used better to benefit the hosts citizens. What I ultimately find most depressing is that players like Messi, Ronaldo and Beckham have not spoken out. Instead they’ve made financial deals as the promotional faces of the Qatar regime and general advertising. Since Messi and Ronaldo are nearing the end of their international careers and have such standing in the game, they could have had real impact in supporting human rights and transparency and they stood not much to lose. I understand that David Beckham is active in terms of promoting the UK as a venue for FIFA/UEFA tournaments, but he still took the money, instead of doing anything to harm his relations with FIFA.

The thing is that yellow cards also affect your team standings

The 2022 world cup is as much of a disaster as people thought the Rio Olympics would be.

Whoa, cool! My old Judo coach once told me a story about how the Japanese Judo team did this at a world championship back in the 70’s! He said he and his teammates just felt demoralized after watching the Japanese clean up after them like they were children.

if you read or learn about islam, including lgbtq laws in islam, you will retract that word, i’m 100% sure.

Even Muslims also have it, have a double personality, and I think this is a person’s disease from birth. But that does not mean that person will be the law, not … !! They are like us, but have different personality, if the person lives in Arab or the majority of Muslims, he is not allowed to invite others or campaigning about LGBT, because that law in Islam, most importantly not to invite or choose LGBT. Why Islam banned LGBT ???? The answer is in the Qur’an, once again I say, the Qatar government banned anyone who invites or campaign about LGBT, and does not prohibit personally. Understand ??? If he is LGBT but not campaigning, they will be accepted to join, understand ??? As always, Western media is always looking for mistakes about the Muslim country, from the past until now, because we are smarts Muslims, we will not respond, better focus something more useful

There are no janitors in Japanese schools. The kids do all of the cleaning. Think about it.

The Japanese fans do that since 2002, as far as I remember, losing or winning.

Maybe we Muslims should start promoting polygamy and start insisting that they should accept it as it’s ordained in our religion

To be fair, it was the football associations that instructed the 7 European squad captains not to go against FIFA’s threats of ‘ sanctions’, which included yellow cards. If the captain is cautioned, then another yellow card in the same game results in a one match ban. Even if he doesn’t receive a second yellow, his game will be affected by having to consider every tackle and every action he makes in the game. FIFA have to accept blame, not the captains, the managers and the squad players. FIFA mean “Don’t obstruct the opportunities to make money out of this” when they actually say “keep politics out of the game”.
