I get the debate. But in one thing I gotta agree… the bathroom signs should represent the current sex of the person and not their gender. If you have a pipe you go to the bathroom that has urinals… period. That has nothing to do labeling you as a man… or as a woman… that has to do what tools you use to get it done.

the thing about this issue is that in our society we are all supposed to have equal rights under the law.. the problem with this bathroom issue is that one group of people is saying their rights should be more important than another group of people.. if you say that men who look like men have the right to use the women’s room, then you’re saying that the women have no right to use a restroom for their own sex.. I don’t think men who obviously look like women would even be noticed.. after all they’ve been doing exactly that for years and nobody has been the wiser.. and nobody has died or been hurt because of it either.. but when you allow men who look like men to use the women’s room there is actually a huge difference.. it’s a primitive instinct that you cannot just disregard.. women’s brains have been hardwired through millenia to perceived threat to themselves or their children on a subconscious level because they’re vulnerable in ways that men simply are not.. women are not physically as strong as men.. subconsciously they are aware that they can be overpowered.. so they and their children are vulnerable in ways that men never have been.. this is why their brains are constantly on alert to danger.. again, it’s hardwired into the female sex.. so when you have someone using the women’s room who looks very much like a man, that instinct kicks in and says danger.. they may not realize exactly why they feel ‘vaguely uncomfortable’ about it, only that they do on some level.. it is actually this primitive level that was designed by nature for a very good reason which was survival of the species.. and this is why women have a that bonding thing with their babies.. it’s there for a reason.. and this men who look like men being in the women’s room is simply an ingrained aspect of that danger instinct..

I don’t think anybody seriously thinks that a trans woman is going to rape a woman in the women’s room.. actual trans folks aren’t going to rape anybody.. that’s not what they’re about so the idea is actually quite absurd and shouldn’t be how this issue is even talked about.. trans are not the actual threat here.. the real issue is that ‘straight’ men are the danger to women.. and if you allow men who look like straight men into the women’s room, how are women supposed to know that they’re trans and be at ease with them in a place where some women feel more vulnerable? a straight man who would rape somebody, is the last person in the world who’d dress like a female to gain entrance to the women’s room.. which is why men who look like women haven’t even been noticed in the women’s room.. they’re using the stalls and their dick isn’t going to be on display..

so this issue is being very poorly framed.. it’s not that trans people are the danger.. I think what they really mean is that men who are not actually trans will say that they are, and should be allowed access regardless of how they look.. and yes, those men could be a threat.. men who look like men at the very least will make most women’s danger instincts kick in on a subconscious level, regardless of whether they really are a danger or not.. so how is it fair to women if you say anybody who just ‘feels’ like a woman but looks very obviously like a man, can use the women’s room and make those women feel that way.. that’s an example of one group of people trying to override another group of people’s rights.. after all, isn’t the idea here to make people feel safe.. and don’t we want everyone to feel safe? why are we saying it’s more important for one group of people to feel safe than another group?

they’re has to be a better solution that could work for everybody.. I don’t see how having an additional single bathroom for trans people to use would bother anyone except maybe the people who have to foot the bill for it.. which I understand isn’t cheap.. so maybe it needs to be mandated on a federal level and paid for by them (yes, I know that means us, everybody) but again, isn’t what we really want that everybody feels safe? and if that means making another room for trans folks, who can disagree? because the only alternative is to make trans people feel unsafe by making them use the restroom of their actual sex.. or to make women feel unsafe by allowing men who look like men into their restroom.. if everyone had simply kept doing what they’ve been doing for all this time, which is men who look like women using the stalls in the women’s room, this wouldn’t even be an issue.. but when the issue became men being allowed to have their dicks on display in women’s locker/shower rooms.. a line was crossed.. you absolutely cannot let men into any women’s locker/shower room, even when they look like women.. if women are uncomfortable with trans who look like men simply using the women’s restroom, how the hell do expect them to be ok with trans looking like men being in their locker rooms? that’s bullshit.. why should they have to strip down in front of somebody who they know has a dick regardless if that person is wearing a wig? and why should they have to be forced to see someone’s exposed dick swinging in their showers? to do so is really saying that women’s feelings don’t count.. that they’re not important.. who cares what their instincts are screaming.. fuck them.. is that it? if so then you’re really just anti-women fuckers because you’re trying to take away their rights by trying to force them to do something that’s completely unnatural for them.. and I don’t care how you try to justify that becuase that’s bullshit.. you either build a separate facility where trans people can strip down to shower or do their ‘business’ if they look like a man or have a dick.. but do not try to tell me that the issue is all about ‘people feeling safe’ or simply ‘equal rights’ because when you are willing to say ‘fuck women’s rights & it doesn’t matter if they feel unsafe’ as long as trans people do.. then it’s not actually about ‘people feeling safe’.. or ‘equal rights’.. is it..

Perverts won’t do it if it’s reported. The loophole is valid. Not all sexual predators are registered. These civil rights laws would create an exposure that does not at all reflect transgender people. It’s unfortunate that humans would take advantage of the law but I gaurantee they will. Again that’s not a transgender issue. That’s a mostly male issue that happens to effect transgender lifestyles

I’m a cisgendered girl. This is my stance, just use the bathroom or shower and get out. Simple as that. Just use it like it’s meant to be used. It’s not that big a deal.

What I have to say on: 01:28 *”When you go into a restroom, or your wife goes into a restroom, you assume the only other people going into that restroom or shower facility are people of the same gender, thats been an expectation of privacy”* Just because people are the same gender as someone else, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re safer or less perverted than transgender people? And even with how most bathrooms standards are today, that doesn’t stop people from invading privacy or jeopardising people’s safety in bathrooms. So how could the excuse be that having trans-friendly bathrooms jeopardises privacy? And people are only havin the argument about a man (trans-female) being in a women’s restroom, and not about vice versa.

something I’ve always said better Sol’s that are not a stall it is a bathroom toilet area closer to real walls real doors real locks is better and in locker rooms private changing areas you just solved most of the uncomfortability problems for both trans and cisgender you just took care of both not one not separated anybody on fairly for being one in the school you’ve now given the opportunity to all students so you’re no longer having all those issues for both sides and I think the newer schools will have a better set up then older schools well it is what it is is privacy rights and bathrooms in locker rooms and honestly you’re right on so many levels and I’m not even halfway through but it’s just unbelievable how I know a lot of kids cisgender and transgender would choosechoose in the gender they identify with a private changing stall no one sees them they see nobody problem solved you no longer expecting a transgender to go miles or not go to the bathroom or refusing to change at all because it is a horrifying experience you’ve taken that away for both is very simple better privacy and all treated equal

Lol, he worked on transgender bathrooms, transgender in the military and pardoning transgender traitors but didn’t do a damn thing for the black community. He was really really worried about transgender. His presidential portrait needs to be next to J Edgar Hoover. If Trevor Noah is saying he’s okay with men in the bathroom with his daughters then he is a liar. Obama’s daughters won’t have to deal with that either as the secret service will guard all their poops from now on. These people are saying they are okay with men in the bathrooms with your daughters.
