So we have a problem when we see the side effects of rules which gives women the sole custody of children.

How about minority, single, and “kidless” men? Some men don’t have others to fall on or live off when their income dwindles. From what I have seen these are the people who are suffering right now.

At least we know now what the problem is. It is the subservancy and treatment of women like they are children! Its gaslighting. I am being gaslighted and told that my intuition, feelings, and beliefs are not valid. They are trying to erase my reality….

I wonder where they found data that supports that the wage gap is less for women who have never been married. If you are looking at the same job where a woman or a man who has never been married vs someone who is married, more than likely people expect the never married woman and man to work longer hours so if they are hourly and get paid overtime that could decrease the wage gap but that does not mean that they are paid more. It just means they work longer hours so the married man or woman could actually make more per hour. If you are an unmarried woman who is also a minority that is where the greatest wage gaps start to occur. Most data shows that married men are the highest wage earners. It seems like the greatest wage gaps are for unmarried men and women. Unmarried women and men don’t have a choice about working, they only have one income and if they don’t have roommates then you are not splitting mortgage or rent either.

They try to gaslight women, they try to get them in a place of doubt. Asking them are sure your perceptions are real? Are you sure your able to trust your intuition? They gaslight women telling them their feelings and inuition are not real. They tell women they arent able think logically.

For the wage gap, I’m not every person in america, I can only speak from personal experience. I worked myself to death for minimum wage, plus 20 cents. My co worker females especially those too old to work, made $10 over minimum wage, worked at a casual speed, didn’t get work done, left anytime they wanted and sexually harass me and bullied me. As well as other male coworkers. That’s my experience with the gender wage gap

I’m wondering if….liberating Women was one of the reasons traditional religious culture of Jesus’ time didn’t like him too much. But it wasn’t put in the bible because….it’s not against the law to be a ‘liberated’ or ‘free’ Woman– I believe that the idea of liberation has kind of also been shaped by Men, or Misogyny in a way that Jesus didn’t actually agree with either. It seems based on the stories, Jesus knew Women were in a complex position in society. I wonder if he ever knew that about his Mom Mary, and if that conversation ever happened, and if it did, what it was like…not that I’ve read the entire bible.

Like I said in the beginning I got disabled yet I am staying at home raising my kid and it is pretty much like a job but without the paycheck and the steady hour shifts I had before, you are on call 24/7 too! When moms are crying out for help at this point they are not being lazy it’s because they have endured too much and are up to their necks with work from both the job and the family at home.

Us soccer is the one place where this gap actually does not exist. When negotiating the deal they were given the option to take the exact deal that the men’s had, but they declined it. They chose to have guaranteed salary where the men’s do not and only are paid in bonuses, so if you are a part of the team but don’t feature in a game or the bench for that specific game you make no money at all. Non starters get less than starters. Women also chose to get the lower bonus package bec not only did it include guaranteed salary but also a benefits plan for things like fully covered health insurance, paid vacation, paid severance, paid childcare, paid maternity, paid dental and a 401k. They still get bonuses depending on outcome of game. Men’s team gets none of those benefits, and the value of those benefits make up the at least 11% difference that the women would get paid over the course of a year playing 20 friendlies vs men’s playing the same

The US seems to be totally out of the game compared to all the other developed nations: no maternity leave, worst maternal and child mortality, unaffordable childcare. Spending on women and their children’s health and well being is not money spent, it’s money invested in the nation’s future.

That NCAA gym for women was a joke. I feel bad for womens sport because women should be competing and aspiring to be involved in sports professionally . But clearly mens sport is still more watched and therefore sponsored because it is representing the peak of human physical abilities. Arguably the professional sport economy is also primarily driven by a male fanbase and marketed towards men .The money follows the audience but the balance is shifting as the female fan base grows as does interest in womens sports. Lets not pretend that men don’t have to work very hard for that money though, they are in an ultra competitive field with a high cost of entry and zero guarantees of success.

Is it fair? Well I would ask is it fair that so called “influencers” on social media platforms have millions of followers and earn millions from advertisers just because they post pics of themselves in various poses and outfits on a daily basis. That economy tends to be solely dominated by women and no one complains that its unfairly biased. There’s literally an economy arguably larger than certain sports almost completely dominated by women because the fanbase is primarily women and the advertisers target the female audience.

I switched to only buying men’s sneakers, men’s socks, and occasionally men’s t-shirts, because they make men’s clothing to last longer than women’s, and are usually cheaper because men don’t like to spend money on clothing (no, I disagree with that, but it is a marketing thing, only “exclusive” is expensive for men).

At the end of the work day, I dissolve into thin air and reappear the next day I guess. The sexism, misogyny was real (still is) in career fields in Nigeria.

There’s something I don’t understand right? If the pink tax does cause women to just say “all right well we’ll just take some of the men’s products then” then shouldn’t it be up to companies then to say well your women’s thing isn’t selling so you might as well just make one product for both genders do you get me? Cuz it’s really them that is going to go through a loss Because some of their products aren’t selling. You think that would be an obvious observation but I guess not

    Reply
  • MLG GAMER 3 years ago

I mean obviously the pink tax on its own is an issue for the government but I feel like companies could help in a way but like I said by just selling one product cuz you sold two different gender products one obviously is more expensive than the other and that one is least likely to be bought by women so you might as well sell only one and don’t label it men’s or women’s like everybody can have it and equal amounts of it too so it’s fair

I told a boyfriend once that he got to pay for all the dinners out and tickets to anything since I got to pay the Pink tax on cosmetics, push up bras, hair and nails, high heals, and birth control-mamograms- paps and the 20% margin on my lower pay. That not even kids! He was appalled and we split up.
