What he says to his mom: “Thank you, mom. I’m very proud that you are mom. I am so happy and filled with peace/happiness. Thank you so much, mom. I love you very much.”

Seth forgot to show the book and tell us the title. Also should’ve asked him to translate what he said to his Mum.

The Vietnamese are beautiful cultured people….highest literacy rates in the world. They respect teachers, and have a National Teachers Day where teachers, working and retired, are given gifts and flowers. They have a lot to teach us.

Seth Myers and team, you amazing people, thank you for having Ocean Vuong on the show—perhaps your best author yet, IMHO. This is great: “I wanted to start with truth and end with art…these bodies are worthy of literature with a capital L.”

I love it when Seth Meyers has novelists on his show. You can tell he appreciates good books and where they come from. I’d never heard of Ocean Vuong before this, but he seems like a delightful man to know.

Wish you would have more writers and musicians, Seth. So bored with the mind-numbingly uninteresting actors that keep showing up on late night shows. Ask more people like this. He’s far more interesting, and far more relevant. And beautifully spoken too.

Ray Bradbury wrote Fahrenheit 451 on a pay typewriter. These trivia stories only work if it’s a classic. Since when does having a talk show tidbit substitute for quality?
