ReplyRight idea, bad execution. What we need to put money into is not reparation, but into programs to increase the quality of life for minorities and educational programs to reduce racism.

ReplyReparations aren’t necessary and wont help with the lack of wealth in the black community. There are a lot of black Americans who are not struggling and do not ask for help. Our country is so in debt already. A lot of poor people spend money on materialistic things and giving more money will not cure the injustice and racism.
ReplyHow do you identify those who deserve reparations? My parents are immigrants and I have African ancestry do I qualify? Quite simply, I think the idea of reparations will be a instrument of divisiveness. I do love the 1619 project though.
ReplyI’m okay with a limited amount of financial reparations. But I think we’d do better to enact reparations in other ways. Zero-interest loans to POC, support starting businesses, student loan repayment, etc.
