If all you can muster to say about the attack on Salman Rushdie is, “Stabbing is bad and I’m against it” without looking at the reasons behind it – you’re useless.

Find Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO GO® http://itsh.bo/iioY87.

It’s HBO.

The straw man was good chaos. I like the way that played out… it was perfect.

Straw man arguments are what so many Trump supporters and Republican politicians use that it’s ridiculous.

Wonder if Bill has the self awareness to realise that a lot of the complaints he hurls at trans people are also strawman arguments.

Bill , you are insincere, looking for claps, not positive change. Time for you to move on

The problem with this entire approach is politicizing it. This is not about liberals vs. conservatives, and as soon as you assign blame to 50% of the nation, you’ve insulted a large segment of the audience and ignored a large part of the problem at the same time. The whole American black and white political “spectrum” is largely to blame for why you continue to spiral down in decay.

This could have been played by having the straw man actually speak, but this was so much better!!

I live in Zhengzhou, where Iphones are assembled. I know people who do that work- my university students do it during the winter and summer breaks. There are no toddlers and it’s not a sweatshop – they say its boring work that pays well for them.

Sad to say though that liberalism today does not really stand for free speech, and labels anyone who disagrees with their position as a bigot. You see more diversity of opinion on Fox News than you do on MSNBC.

Salman Rushdie is an overrated writer with a neck wound.
