I loved Modern English in the early 80’s when this came out…I think 1982…but by the time the band sold out to Hollywood with this song I was done. Listened tonight for the first time in years and I still hate it.
Saw them in Kansas City a couple months ago and the crazed, tattooed guitarist wasn’t with them. They still sounded great and “After the Snow” is a great album from start to finish. Glad they played it live in it’s entirety for the 40th anniversary.
Valley Girl soundtrack ftw!!
ReplyMan, deep lyrics. And their guitar player already survived one apocalypse clearly so maybe there’s hope.
ReplyYes! Yes! Yes! Just simply yes!
ReplyI’ve always loved the double off beat, so fab!
ReplyThank you Jimmy!! Great songs never die!!
ReplyStill handsome!! 🥰
Reply*Making money is an action. Keeping money is behavior, but “Growing money is wisdom”…I figured this out a day’s ago*
ReplyListening on full blast! Love this song!! ❤

ReplyIf Nicholas Cage and Deborah Foreman showed up, this would be so perfect. I remember this song from Valley Girl.
