Professor and author Michael Eric Dyson joins Bill to discuss white America’s awakening to systemic racism, as described in his new book, “Long Time Coming: Reckoning with Race in America.”
Find Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO GO® http://itsh.bo/iioY87.
It’s HBO.
Dyson talks just to hear himself speak.
ReplyEvery republican president has given a recession but Trump takes the cake 🎂
When will Americans learn ?
ReplyHomeless people in UK have better healthcare system than Americans.
Let that sink in, while you figure out why….
ReplyNot this dumb racist huckster.
Replygo too TRUMPVD.com
ReplyIs talking about black on black murder rates in the US considered hate speech?
ReplyCan’t stand Dyson. He loves the sound of his own voice.
ReplyThat’s exactly right. No minimizing that. If you don’t understand that’s ok, just know it’s the truth.
ReplyThere’s a lot that Mr. Dyson says that drives me crazy, but I love him for the ideas and perspectives that he shares and he is a good person. I am especially grateful that he has stuck with Bill in good faith and has maintained a sense of humour.
ReplyAhh the old trick of talking so fast you can’t be corrected or challenged. Not to say Dyson is wrong, really they’re both correct.
ReplyOf all the pseudo intellectuals on TV, this guy is the most annoying and stupid one
ReplyIf I had to pick two people who think they are smarter than really are, it would be these two.
ReplyYou no what you call what they do #hating on other people’s success
ReplyThis guy makes a very good living off pretend racism, so he’ll never stop.
ReplyYep
ReplyI don’t know anyone, who is taken seriously, who is advocating for the abolishment of the police departments across America.
What, “defund the police,” refers to is NOT taking all funding from police departments (and once again, the political left has some great ideas but no idea how to create an appealing phrase).
Defund the police is about taking the millions of dollars we American taxpayers are spending on military weapons, military vehicles, and training in military tactics (none of which are appropriate for protectors and servants of the people who uphold the law), and redirecting those millions of taxpayer dollars towards training in conflict resolution, towards municipalities providing NEEDED mental health services, and for municipalities, and police departments, to have mental health professionals, on staff, and ready to take those mental health situations off the hands of police officers, the overwhelming majority of whom, have no training for responding effectively to a mental health crisis, and who would 99 out of 100 times prefer to have the mental health professionals handle these situations, allowing police officers to focus on crime, on police department matters. THAT is what is horribly mistitled as “defund the police.” A very good idea, a very stupid name.
ReplyNone of what that guy says is supported by facts. If you take into consideration number of police interactions, members of the black community are less likely than white folks to be injured or end up dead during a police interaction.
Perpetuating this false narrative is what gets people killed because it leads to distrust of the police which leads to more violent incidents.
ReplyI’m a black man from f’ing Harlem. My dad was shot, my cousin was shot, my friends were shot, and none of them by the police. This dude really pisses me the F’ off. all stats across all metrics were getting better and then these race baiters come along.
ReplyWhat would these people do if America had zero racism? They would divide us and tell us there was, so they could have a job to perpetuate the cycle. Best country in the world for law-abiding citizens of all colors.
