Meat prices are soaring as a perfect storm of higher demand and supply chain issues hit America’s beef producers. In Washington, several former White House officials and advisors to the former president were issued subpoenas by the Jan. 6th committee who wants to examine their roles in the attack on the U.S. Capitol. #Colbert #Comedy #Monologue

Where has the Late Show Been all of this Time?
Meat prices went through the roof as soon as Covid Started Killing Slaughterhouse Employees back in in 2020!
Trump’s Tariffs have caused Goods and Supplies prices to go up, no matter where they come from!
American corporations started moving their production back in the late 70s when the Republican President Nixon found a way to get China to open up their Country to Trade after we pulled out of Vietnam! First the Textile Companies left for China, and the Republicans allowed companies to pay 0 taxes on overseas Profits; then Thousands of Companies have Moved overseas for Tax Breaks!
    WTF Republicans?
Republicans are always fighting wars so American companies can exploited their war torn countries in cheap labor welcome open trade markets!
American workers lose good paying union jobs and The American People get Expensive Cheap made products! All so Corporations can make huge Profits and Republicans get huge Campaign Contributions from Company CEOs!
F REPUBLICAN LIES AND GREED! 750,000+ AMERICANS HAVE DIED FROM COVID BECAUSE OF REPUBLICAN LIES AND GREED!
    ARREST THE TRAITOR TRUMP ASAP!

He doesn’t support legalizing weed… He also has the executive power to help alot of people here in the US but doesn’t do it.

    Just saying that would help.

Odd that there is a reported escalation in labor costs since they’ve also been telling us that they can’t find people that want to work………

Great monologue tonight ! And ya, the price of beef up here in Canada is atrocious 🙁 $59/kg ….I live in the heart of cattle country in Alberta. My take is, it’s nothing short of gouging …they can “sod off”… I’ll have fish, chicken, and even baked beans for that matter, LOL. Hit them where it hurts you guys, just don’t buy any.

I keep hearing about supply shortages for food and sky rocketing prices in Canada but I haven’t seen it. Fully stocked shelves and biz as usual. Just bought a roast on the weekend for $10 – not $100. #wehavethemeats

Anyone who acknowledges the climate crisis should oppose subsidising animal agriculture.
