Replyi hate to be **that** person, but in mattel’s defense(which there absolutely shouldn’t be in 2021), i grew up in japan and the barbie equivalent there is Licca-chan, and she’s white (with a japanese last name but still with VERY white features), so….
yeah. i hate that “white beauty standards” are a thing in a population where most ppl AREN’T born with white features. we’re relentlessly pressured into thinking we have to contort ourselves to look “more white” or “more foreign”… that’s… messed up.
Replythat’s why i think we need more POSITIVE representation of asian features in media so younger generations can see themselves in a positive light instead of no representation whatsoever.
Disney aren’t worried, they have a whole load of YouTubers, Instragramers and other narcissistic ‘influencers’ lined up ready to pay the big bucks they earn from idiots who watch their videos and look at their photos to salivate over their online posting instead of getting a real life of their own. Wait for Tim Tracker, Dis Unplugged, AllEars and others to post their videos of their stay.
ReplyI love going to Disney World, or at least I did until I had to spend every meal I had trying to avoid being videoed by foghorn jerks filming their meal or a parade or show or just walking around the park while loudly describing it and not giving a shit about any else’s privacy. Remember when no one ever wanted to watch other people’s home movies or look at their holiday pics?
