Maria Ressa is the canary waving a red flag. We would be wise to pay attention. How social media was used and misused in the Philippines IS happening here. As she advised: time to draw the line, link arms and push back. Please.

She is sharp! I generally agree with her, yet I don’t scroll personally towards fear and anger, but towards love and fun

The data doesn’t lie. But the people who interpret the data, might.

The parallels with the film Forbidden Planet always loom large when I hear conversations like this. Combine human weakness with virtually unlimited power.

Proud to be Filipino looking at what mature intellectual, sociological and political discussions sound like. Many Filipinos have lost this capacity to argue about facts by their own choice. And we are damned by that propensity.

I love it that Colbert knows when to speak and when to ask one question and let the guest be their eloquent selves. Well done. This was likely the most important interview of the year.

Why does Sally Field get more time than someone who actually cares about the world and has some solutions on how to deal with it?

Duterte was a good president. Exactly the kind of president that the Philippines needs. Better than the corrupt system that existed before him.

Thank you for having Maria Ressa as a guest in your show. If the majority of Filipinos and our leaders of my country dismiss her, then better have the rest of the world listen and learn from her. She brings hope to me and many like-minded Filipinos, for democracy and fighting for “the real” truth.
