ReplyWhat has Covid done to his hairline?
ReplyCountless Civilians also died under American bombs, Civilians who knew nothing about the holocaust and were against the National Socialism party anyway
ReplyOutliers probably Gladwells best work. At least its what i felt most compelled to recommend here bc it enables you to see the world more empathy. something in dire short supply nowadays.

ReplyThat is a man who never had enough thingamabobs as a child.
ReplyMalcom is brilliant as always. (The tipping point)
ReplyIf you think that it is a revelation that there were advocates for air power being supreme over all other forms of warfare then you missed the history bus by at least half a century.
ReplyAs early as 1907 H.G.Wells’ The War in the Air predicted terror bombing of civilians. In 1939 British planners assumed 100,000s of casualties in London shortly after the outbreak of WWII. Turned out indiscriminate area bombing simply stiffened an enemy’s resolve, but precision bombing (1944 onwards: Railways and industry) shortened the war. Not funny, but true.
Gotta be one of this show’s best interviews in recent memory: hilarious, insightful, and authentic.
ReplyI love Malcolm Gladwell. He is pure gold.
ReplyMalcolm Gladwell’s audiobooks are the only ones that I am able to sit through in their entirety. Looking forward to enjoying this new book. I wonder if it’s related to his 2011 Ted Talk on the Norden bombsight.
ReplyMalcolm took coke
ReplyThe guest looks like the kid off wild Thornberrys
ReplyHe’s right about the mermaid, and I bet he goes into how masochistic it is too.
ReplyHe’s not much of a Historian. Either he neglects to say or doesn’t know that BURNING Down Japan continued for most of the war and incinerated MILLIONS. Germany had some that as well…. I’m not for war, but I’m not passing judgement either. I’m just making it known that there were more than 1 time, and some of the Bombing killed many more than the Atomic Bombs.
ReplyFun fact; Curtis Lemay was the character in Oliver stones JFK who was the military guy in the JFK’s autopsy scene who was smoking a cigar.
ReplyMy 25 year old daughter loved the little mermaid when she was a kid.
ReplyOmg, that was sublime
ReplyFantastic Audiobook. Fantastic Author.
Replyfirebombing cities was a popular allied strategy
ReplyWar criminal George Bush murdered 2 Million people in Iraq. You will not change history with lies.
ReplyI love Malcolm Gladwell, and I really love complaining about bad movies, but he’s just WRONG about Little Mermaid. That movie is a national treasure. Gladwell’s become a grumpy old grinch.
ReplyDon’t worry about all those bombing deaths….the real problems are menthol cigarettes and kit guns.
ReplyI love this human being!
ReplyLittle mermaid…what? Ursula??..Lol

ReplyThe little mermaid…glad he is destroying it. Worst movie!

ReplyGentlemen, this bombing tactic was used by Bush Sr. on Iraq with the first Iraq war invasion – they hit power plants and hydro dams. It brought Iraq to its knees. Then the sanctions set in…millions starved to death; many of them children. Then Bush Jr. “goes in to finish the job” so to speak. Sick.
ReplyYou want the best story you will ever cover on your show? I have evidence of the social media coverup. I am banned across all social media platforms and have recently stumbled onto something bigger than anything you will ever know.
ReplyIt seems really interesting. I too have a six year old.
ReplyLove me some Malcolm…
ReplyWhoa we went straight to drunken cocktail party conversation with this interview and I am here for it.
ReplyI’m guessing this is some kind of “woke” take on The Little Mermaid? Get outta here…
ReplyJIMMY KIMMEL IS A CHILD ABUSER
ReplyEverything old is new again. His book is just like the old radio programs except technology is better today.
ReplyI guess I’d better read this because we were taught that while we were focused on the war in Europe, which they were trying to involve us in, Japan launched a surprised attack. This is what changed our mind about getting into the war and we bombed Japan because it would keep them from getting further involved.
ReplyDid Guillermo go to the Oscars this year?
ReplyPls Post the Full Episodes. Maybe 2-3 Weeks after the Show for the people outside the us
