Courage, truth & integrity are not requirements to become members of the house or senate. Today’s requirements are, Fox affiliations, seventeen year old acquaintances, a friend with a private jet & an innate ability to lie thru the teeth.

So we got “both sides”, “I voted for Trump but…” and “I HAD to go far right in order to exert influence”.

So compelling. No doubt this book is the result of years of fervent soul-searching.

John Boehner was “unalterably opposed” to marijuana legalization when he was in Congress and voted against it. Now that he is a board member of a cannabis investment firm he’s working to get Congress to legalize it so he can make millions of dollars. He’s a horrible hypocrite.

Colbert should be ashamed of himself. Giving this man his chance to sell his book but not calling him out on the whole nightmare that Boehner participated in. What is wrong with you Colbert? Where is the push back? This whole thing is disgusting. He should have taken the opportunity to ream this guy a new a-hole.

Boehner was basically ousted because he DARED to talk with Obama when the shutdown happened. That is when the GOP went full crazy. And he wasn’t crazy enough. So he had to pay the price.
He is absolutely right. Both parties were taken hostage by the loudest in their parties. And I’ve been saying this for years. One of the reasons we can’t move forward. That’s why we all need to take a step back and CHILL!!!

Pah-leeeze! Republicans are more independent minded than the dems? Are you kidding me? The Republicans march in lock step with Trump and McConnell to block anything and everything the dems suggest and to protect Trump at all costs. Under Obama, they marched in lockstep with their strategy to say NO to anything and everything Obama wanted to do…even if was originally a republican idea. As Boehner literally said, “We aren’t the party of NO! We’re the party of HELL NO!”

Hey Steven. John Boehner ran from responsibility to hold Trump accountable and passed the buck as soon as he had the opportunity. Do not let this man back onto your show in the future, he is a tainted as Trump is, I was genuinely surprised to see he was the guest, and honestly disgusted that you would bother with him. Are you gonna have Mitch McConnell on next to both sides things? How bout Paul Ryan? These men have EVERY opportunity to speak up when it MATTERS but somehow only find a backbone when it isn’t their ass in the chair.

THEY don’t hear these kind of emotional pleas. But I know a fellow D&D player can’t put the disappointment from a trusted ally out of their mind.

It just feels a bit disingenuous to have a former politician who is former because of a sex related scandal on TV criticizing other politicians. Kinda like how you just don’t put a convicted child sex offender in a position of power and supervision over children. People can turn their lives around, but with certain willful choices and failures of character you just lose certain privileges and credibility until you actively prove otherwise. Some privileges and relationships are not restorable even after turning your life around. And not everybody turns their lives around. Unfortunately too few do. Go to an AA or NA meeting. You will meet many varied and good people with checkered pasts of every kind. They are sober. However their addiction never leaves them alone. It is a struggle they have to fight with every day. The ones who choose to remain sober have to make hard choices, resolve emotional issues and character flaws, change their friends and cut certian people and influences out of their life. Boehner does not strike me as having done any of that. He strikes me as a career politician who is trying to do an image change in the same manner as a company that has chosen to re-brand themselves as tough, old school and righteous after a scandal. He has not earned the right to have credibility back with his actions. Not on this topic at least.

I’m so disappointed with Stephen Colbert. Platforming this monster who saw the rise of the Tea Party and went “Wow, these guys are crazy. But hey, I get to be Speaker”. John Boehner is not a good man, he is guilty for helping the movement that lead to Trump. Platforming and helping him reform himself is something I expected Stephen Colbert to have the sense not to do. Who is next, war criminal Bush?

If Biden sat down with McConnell and worked out a “compromise” on the infrastructure bill, it would end up watered down and no Republican would vote for it anyway. We’ve seen this play – many times. The plot never changes.

He’s a typical Republican. Let’s take the heat off of Donald Trump and put it on Ted Cruz or someone else. And the epidemic of opiates wasn’t caused by the public it was caused by the pharmaceutical companies in the doctors that were riding huge prescriptions for things they knew better than to write them for. They always have an excuse for what they’re using to make billions of dollars. At the expense of lives of Americans. Passing the book of typical Republican he doesn’t have anything to tell anyone except that he procrastinates on everything he does. He’s been nothing but continually going along with whatever happens in this country by the Republican Party once a thief always a thief pass the buck cover up anything you can for the Republican party and blame it on the people of the United States but we don’t make Oxycontin. We can’t get it unless it’s out there on the street given to them by doctors and they’re all in a great money-making scheme for the medical industry and the pharmaceutical companies
