“You can expose hypocrisy with humor.”
Daily Show Co-Creator and Founder of Abortion Access Front Lizz Winstead explains how her career in comedy evolved into the social activism she does for abortion rights, how her organization guides people towards the reproductive justice advocates they want to be, and what to pay attention to in the fight for Roe v. Jesus christ they aren’t even trying anymore
ReplyLife terms for supreme court “Justices” should be abolished. They are no longer just, they merely reflect the politics of who put them in place, this is severely wrong in that it circumvents and undermines Democracy.
ReplyThere really is too much stigma around the subject of abortion. I have difficulty thinking of another subject in healthcare that have people instantly looking for a way out of the conversation. It is just another medical procedure that is available, except there are so many people that are desperately trying to take it away. I’m sure the mom of 5 that can barely feed her family will highly appreciate having no other choice but to have a 6th since her antibiotics canceled out her birth control.
Reply@2:00 “We have fun things in the streets” says the Abortion group. “5 mins or an hour, we’ve got great creative activities
that folks can jump into.”
Sounds like how you end up needing abortion services in the first place.
Sorry, i couldn’t resist, but seriously thank you for the support you offer so many. It’s an important social and medical service for all to have access to.
ReplyHaving the show creator as your first guest is a big win for Sarah!
ReplyI don’t know why conservatives are so against abortion. All it’s doing is killing potentially future liberal anyway. Relax
ReplyNow I remember Lizz Winstead from back in the late 80’s. She’s been around forever
ReplyWomen want their rights back
ReplyExcellent job, Silverman. Love this interview and meaningful dialogue.
ReplyMs Silverman, you rock, little sister.
ReplyWomen refuse to give men the right to not support their children. How is that different from men refusing to give women the right to not support their children? Responsibility begins at conception.
ReplyThat my baby momma
ReplyIt’s not humor that a fertalized egg resembles a cancer, tumor and parasite, more than a human for the beginning of it’s existence. So call an abortion a cure for cancer as a marketing tool. Every child expense a medical expense on credit. Children aren’t as great as you think they are. But Idiocracy is a documentary because you reproduce and I don’t.
ReplyRestore Roe, AND give men their reproductive rights too (but silly people won’t)! Oh well.
