Give it up for Karen and Koreans shaming us for not being smarter (by making us read for 2 hours) than them in the most classy of ways.

Nobody doubted Asians were adept at film making. You were all acting Iike this was some breakthrough. Akira Kurosawa, John Woo, Toshiro Mifune and both Bruce and Ang Lee showed Asians have always been world class directors

This skit was the equivalent of the migrating tree frog story we’ve all been waiting for.

So… I know that Americans look at this weird, but as a guy from a place that sends people out as migrants… eh… do they realize that Bong Joon Ho is not part of a minority?

I mean, this lady is funny and whatever, but she’s American, so yeah, she’s racially and culturally a minority in her own country. But… well, Koreans are not. I mean, I can get being happy because hey, your family is from there and whatever, patriotism. But this American view that people from places that are racially homogeneous and have their own issues with racism and xenophobia are minorities just because they look different to white people in a country they don’t live in is super weird. US racism is so internalized that this weird skit comes across as progressive somehow.

Bong Joon-ho looks like a nice man but Parasite is not a good film at all!
