People think that robots are going to destroy human jobs all together this
is complete and utter nonsense. even if we say that all jobs are taken by
robots, some one would have to be hired to fix, prevent fraud and
correct those robots, after all can anyone say they have never had a
problem with their computer? In fact in order to take over every single job
robots would have to develop “COMMON SENCE” something my computer CANT do.

I give those service robots less then 6 months until half of america are
going to blame them for stealing all the jobs.

I will never shop at a store that does this, are robots cool.. hell yea but
that could have been a human getting a paycheck. So I won’t be shopping at
Lowe’s if they bring this to my store.

Everyone’s excited that the Home Depot guy is Nick Offerman, but nobody
notices that the husband is H. Jon Benjamin, better known as Sterling
    Archer.

I don’t understand why the robot sounds like a bad 80s movie interpretation
of what robots will sound like in the future.

How is nobody commenting on the obscene layoffs that will occur all over
the retail industry if these things get big? Yes we can do robots, but
    ethically, this is so wrong.

The funny thing about the commercial is that you don’t actually read the
description before seeing it, so you don’t know who’ll be in it. And when
you see it, you immediatly recognize Nick Offerman… but I had to wait
until I could recognize H. Jon Benjamin, when he starts talking louder and
you recognize Archer/Bob Belcher in him.

As an introvert I would love that robot technology, I resonantly realized
in how many irrelevant conversations I have to participate in which
distract me from my scientific thoughts. But a sufficient app with
information about the product, where to find it and a AI for questions
about usage, backgrounds etc. would be enough.

you get caught in that socially awkward Purgatory of whenever they do their
“passive-aggressive bickering” back and forth to each other right when you

  • Ad Astra 3 years ago

Nope, I’m for it. Let robots take all the mundane human jobs they can, and
we can finally focus on how valuable people really can be. Focus on our
education– cooperation, classes in logic and reasoning and even one in
developing empathy (to combat negative human traits such as greed) should
be standard, and stop teaching children to chase the carrot on a stick and
instead let them continue to naturally search for answers for curiosity’s
sake, encourage people to take STEM or artistic professions, design a
united global economy and government where *everyone* gets the basics to
live a comfortable life (Am I the only one in the US who thinks people
should be entitled to this regardless of their circumstances?) and those
who choose to contribute to society through working get further incentive
if they desire it. We’d advance technology and our understanding of the
universe far quicker, people should be happier as they don’t have
ridiculous work hours, are guaranteed food and shelter, and could own their
own lives; meaning they can spend all of it doing things they actually want
to do instead of sacrificing part of it to sustain themselves for the bits
here and there they get to themselves! Humanity could accomplish *amazing*
things if we worked together! Even the least intelligent among us are
better and worth more than sweeping dirt from floors or sliding produce
along a scanner and smiling shallowly to a customer because their employer
wants them to look happy and inviting. I mean hell, I could train a dog to
do that work, *and* they’d do a far better job at being inviting and
    friendly!

    I mean… I can dream, can’t I?
