I’m really happy that his relationship with rose is still going strong. They always seemed like a great match to me it’s almost like Jon, and ygritte’s relationship has happy ending after all.

The lack of care that mothers get after birth is the most care that mothers have ever gotten. Mothers weren’t getting better post partum care in the 1940s. Certainly not in the 1800s. Mothers made it 4 or 5 thousand years in fact with very little acknowledgement of post partum at all. Truth is mothers are soft, pandered, get better care than their mothers or their mothers mothers ever did – but somehow aren’t as mentally equipped and are falling apart and need astronomical levels of attention. Suck it up or don’t have kids, world population is doing just fine. There’s a billion dollar industry around nothing but post partum care – usually it’s just the mothers not accessing resources readily available to them and attempting to “go it alone” – which is fine until you want to pass the blame for going it alone onto “the system” that is incredibly robust compared to any other time in the past.
