Glenda Jackson could play (McKellen’s) Hamlet’s mother.

A phenomenal film, tv and stage actress and person, Oscar winner, then gave it up to serve as a member of parliament (in the UK) for decades, THEN returned to the stage and played King Lear.

    She will survive us all.

Fun fact. While his first musical was Music Man in high school, the next year in high school he played one of the Duke’s married to one of Lear’s daughters in King Lear and he nailed it. I saw every performance.

One of the many reasons I love Stephen: that Lillian Gish pull was beautiful. The joke set-up from Hugh was classic — it’s a brightly cheeky observation — and of course the audience doesn’t laugh because they know nothing, but film nerds at home? What a pull.

What a charmer. And, Stephen, don’t pretend for a second you don’t wake up a little early to bask in the shining light that is Evie. We should all be so lucky.

How do you play a role that was mostly Bill Murray improvising?

Lisa Joy from Westworld with Hugh Jackman.
A lot of Sci Fi and a lot of action.
