The death of George Floyd and the ensuing public outrage has many people wondering how best to help out and make a difference. Keegan-Michael Key joins Stephen Colbert to suggest a few meaningful actions people can take, like learning about candidates running for local office and supporting those who fight for social justice. Key’s new show “Game On!” airs Wednesday nights at 8/7c on CBS and CBS All Access. #StephenAtHome #GameOn #KeeganMichaelKey

Keegans point about teaching kids from a young age to value themselves so they don’t need to suppress others to feel better is so valid. If that became commonplace, websites like twitter might actually have more of a positive audience too

On the subject of the black and white babies: In my personal experience, financial position has a lot more to do with who you befriend than skin color. The only color that truly matters in the United States is green.
It’s VERY hard to maintain a friendship with someone who can’t fathom coming from less than they do. Even if they’re good folk, there will typically just be too many experiences that are not shared. Like if you can’t imagine your wardrobe, regardless of gender, being _completely_ passed down to you by your older siblings… then congrats, you’re not poor. But fellow poor kids know what that’s like and don’t fuckin’ judge you for it.

I am still in shock. It is horrifying to watch a murder on television.

So unaware – there is not going to be a system (if you mean the Republic of the Constitutional Convention) to “cut into .”

IM still waiting for stupid President Trump jokes forced into THIS conversation. I’m former military ,there are some bad soldiers .but four of them .The four cops .Terrance Floyd called for people to stop the riots and vote on every level to get rid of the cops like that. When people ask why did George Floyd died ,he will be remembered as the last crime of its kind because things changed .

The violence comes from a very guttural human response The “you will remember this ” response .This will be a case study in academy’s .

Everyone keeps saying voting is the solution.. But why should we as the citizens have to wait and endure the authoritarian regime for years to get back our basic human rights as well as human decency??! And it is not even a sure bet. I’d say don’t wait, fxxx it, and do whatever action it takes to make the changes NOW. Absolutely won’t make a compromise on my basic rights.

Step 0: if it is not a white police officer murdering a black man, ignore the problem.
Step 1: burn your city to the ground
Step 2: kill a police officer (preferably black)
Step 3: see celebrities and silicon valley entrepreneurs tell you that they support you while they concentrate their wealth and destroy middle class jobs in other cities.
Step 4: cry and blame the president, but not the mayor, police department or the celebrities that ‘support’ you.
Mission accomplished, nothing changed and you’re poorer. Everything got forgotten.
Step 5: escape into some kind of mindless entertainment show.
This is the problem with identify politics. The real problem is socio-economical.

Easy to use the word “reform”. Harder to define and implement a plan. Balancing rights of the accused with those of victims is harder than you might think.
