What is the plan to solve this issue? Everybody needs information, but not everybody can afford every pay wall. My own idea was hidden ads: why must I see the company sponsoring this or that particular news outlet? Upon further reflection, the “owner” of the news controls what is “news” (Fox). How do we, as a healthy democracy, get around this? It’s quite a dilemma. I used to read the Washington Post and NY Times daily online, but now there are paywalls and/or limited access. What’s the solution?

I pay for npr, tyt, and democracy now to exist. They all collect membership and donationd based on member faith in their coverage. It’s a rough market. But nobody wants to buy paper a shilling government perspective.
