I feel like if they are able to help those who are in need and need food they must turn their focus away from “will it profit us the company” to how is it going to benefit everyone. I think the day that happens that’s when we know that business has changed forever. But otherwise, as a cynic, big money just going to use it for other things that really they don’t need

I think what the chef failed to do was answer the first question.
My question being why is the population that is hungry unable to feed themselves? Basically why can they not afford food, and how can We address this?

I just got a job with a community college as a resource coordinator. Statistically a recent study shows that in the state where I live, over HALF of the community college students — these can be students of any age — are food insecure. Students may have to not eat for a day or two during the month so that they can pay for education or the things it takes to get an education — internet, transportation to college, gas, books, all the things required. Also, housing insecurity and homelessness are major factors for students in community college in my state. These are the things my job will be addressing: linking students in need to the services and programs that can help them.
