Thank you, Trevor. I want to spin off from this for a minute, and add my concern for Mr. Dickerson, who is licenced to carry a concealed weapon. Wherever he goes, if he chooses to carry but is unknown to locals, he needs to wear all those patches and all that stuff to show that he’s not a gangster black guy, which is the only thing a racist will think about a black guy with a gun.

ReplyWe were sold on going to war with Iraq on the premise that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), and therefore had to be stopped. The obvious implication was that WMDs were bad. Logically that implies that no one should have them. The question then becomes, where do you draw the line? How many people have to die within a given time frame for a weapon to qualify? Certainly more than a thousand dying all at once would qualify… What about a hundred? Fifty? a dozen? Some of us believe that an AR-15 would qualify as a WMD, and should therefore be outlawed.

ReplyMost people who carry a gun, do so because they’re motivated by terror and paranoia. These aren’t the people who will run towards the danger. Also, they’re usually fat… so running isn’t their forte anyway.
ReplyI think the one if the biggest issues with guns is that it’s really difficult to find a place to shoot one. I live in one of those thirty states and it’s hard to find public land that’s safe enough to shoot on. Or places get shut down because people trash them. It’s like a dog who never gets off there leash.

ReplyAfter owning firearms and training with IDPA for years….two things I KNOW to be true” One, if you think that by carrying a weapon that you are going to somehow “save the day”, you need to leave that weapon at home….and two, if you ever had to draw, aim, and fire your personal weapon at another human being…..that would be the WORST day of your life, not the best. If you think otherwise, see number One.

ReplyAs someone who has completed concealed carry classes: That instructor was a lot less tolerant of people being rule-breaking rebels with terrible muzzle safety than most. The goal is to get people to buy guns. Actual safety is sort of irrelevant.

ReplyIn kansas we have conceal carry permits but you don’t need one to carry a concealed weapon in the state. On top of that they are trying to lower the age to own a pistol.
