Was Joe really anyone’s guy? What a facade of choice we have. That has to change, but one thing at a time. Down-ballot change can happen now, focus on that and getting this hateful admin out.

How is it that Jon Stewart can say in 90 seconds what trumptard couldn’t say in 3.5 years.

I agree on his assessment of Biden. Wasn’t really leaning toward him..but now I can see him being a more empathic leader. Joe Biden has had some personal tragedies. That defines a person. He doesn’t strike me as someone who is self absorbed or bitter with what what dealt him. While not perfect at least he tries. He even admitted he can and will make mistakes. That makes him human. Being able to admit mistakes and learn from them makes you a leader.

Haven’t heard any of that from Trumptard.

Jon should be the DNC’s go-to guy for creating slogans. It IS enough already! But I do understand the 14% who are still undecided. Come November, my kind of people are the ones who will vote AGAINST Trump, not for Biden.

Sorry Jon, have always respected you, your insight and your opinions. I cannot agree, however, that there is anything good about Biden. He is not humble, he is arrogant without any reason to be. He is the one who bears the most responsibility for turning this country into a penal colony.

No we don’t need Biden……. we need the democratic party to choose an intelligent and strong leader like they used to do back in the 60s………. where’s the JFKs RFKs…. Trumans…..Carters out there??? Instead the best the DNC can do is Biden……?! Even a third term amendment with Obama running again would be a much BETTER option than Biden…….

It’s a big problem, if the only real thing going for the contender is that he’s NOT the president. And sorry to say so – the only point Biden makes constantly is ‘I can beat Trump’ – oh and that he was Obamas VP.
I don’t know any of Bidens real policies, his values, what he is going FOR – that he is against Trump, that’s obvious and easy. But what will he do after he has slain the beast? But did you know, he was Obamas VP once?

Just to be clear, I don’t say: Don’t vote for Biden – at this rate, one could vote for a moldy sponge and get a better president than Trump. The bar is not only low – it’s buried deep down in the earth. Between ‘better than Trump’ and ‘actually a decent president’ there’s a lot of room. Biden might be better than expected – or he might fall in this room.
All I say – watch this guy carefully. Even if nothing else, with Biden you will have enough freedom to keep campaining, keep protesting and keep demanding a better president. You won’t have that freedom if Trump is re-elected.

I love Jon Stewart, but his trying to make the excuses as to why Joe Biden is a good choice for president is such Bullshit. There is no excuse for the DNC pushing Biden on us this way.

Disturbing that you don’t understand that humility and Humanity does not make a president that can get us through this time of disaster. Not when the man with the humanity and the humility is also senile and fading Into the Dark. You are counting on the Democrats propping him up to be humble. Not going to happen. You can have a democratic Administration that fails to deliver the change that people demand now.

i know i’m just watching TV right now, and i know that capital protects itself at any cost, but hearing jon stewart endorse biden gave me flashbacks to hearing john oliver endorse hillary clinton. and i’ve been watching jon since he started on TDS over 20 years ago.
ya just get the sinking feeling… everyone you look up to has a gun to their head, and it’s all fake. i’m sorry, for anyone who felt moved by this. jon is a great speaker. whatever the circumstance his words had effort behind them. but more than a “heartfelt argument for biden” this felt like a hostage situation. that’s what we’re in, and electoral politics won’t save us. they told us THAT 20y ago too when they stole an election in broad daylight and everyone shrugged. i’m always happy to see jon and stephen together, but i feel sick right now.

Exactly this. He wasn’t my first, second or third choice either. But we could do a lot worse. I think he has the same problem Hillary Clinton has, that he doesn’t come across well on camera. Which shouldn’t be the basis for electic a leader in the first place, but that’s a whole other issue.
He fumbles his words, he tells anecdotes he thinks will come across as “hip” but are just cringey as fuck…and yet every story I hear about him from other people who know him personally, and have known and/or worked with him for years, paint a picture of this humble, thoughtful guy.

The 14 percent are undecided because they realize that the greatest issue that America faces is economic inequality. Economic inequality has continued to increase over Bush, Obama and Trump. It will continue to increase with Biden. The sole purpose of the US presidency is to distract the focus away from this issue. If people continue to be preoccupied with this trivial bs, they will never realize that both the left and right are suffering from the same economic disparities. Banks, military industrial complex, pharmaceutical industry etc decide who will be president and dictate what the government does, not the American people.

Jon, You’re the kind of human that makes me think we might have a chance. I wish we had more like you.
Thanks for helping me see potential in Joe. I hope he fulfills the best case scenario.
Now, if we can convince the disgruntled, entitled, idealistic liberals that we MUST vote for Joe, like him or not. He’s the only exit strategy we have from the disaster now sitting in the white house.
