They brought the dogs in illegally, avoiding strict animal quarantine laws
and took a piss out of the system. Australia has eradicated rabies, and if
it was any normal person, his dogs would’ve been destroyed in order to
preserve the natural species of that country. He should be thanking that he
    got off lucky

We have pretty strict border security here sometimes. We dont let anything
in that hasnt been declared properly just incase its not safe.

I understand that the laws are different in Australia, but my question is
this: Why was the Agricultural Minister doing a press conference about it?

Unless it was in response to a leak or the story getting out, it seems more
like it was done to bring attention to the law than anything else. What
better way to remind people of a law than to go on live TV talking about an
    A-list movie star breaking it?

Australia has no problem sacrificing 2 dogs over all the native animals
that could suffer because of the diseases his dogs could’ve brought. And If
that makes Australia bad then sorry, they are bad. Australia is a very
clean country and they wanna keep it that way.

Australia wont allow dogs in and are very strict BUT……………….
Here in America we let dirty Mexican illegal immigrants in. If they
quarantine dogs in Australia imagine what they would do to border jumpers.
    GO AUSTRALIA :)

Barnaby Joyce completely overreacted. A simple letter or phone call would
have sufficed, not a press conference

I’m so glad that others agree with me. I’m sorry that countries like New
Zealand and Australia don’t care that you are a celebrity, maybe stop
acting like you are above the law and then we wouldn’t have a problem with
you. Johnny Depp is an arse and this innocent act is embarrassing.

Every Australian citizen or those wishing to enter Australia have to abide
by the laws of quarantine. Just because you’re a celebrity with money it
doesn’t mean that you get to bypass those laws!
