ReplyI met jack when he was the musical guest on the New Prairie Home Companion. He was releasing acoustic covers of his stuff and showed up with these big shiny silver instruments made out of shiny metal. A guitar, upright bass and a shiny metal violin. They were used on cruise ships bach in the day because they would not warp like wood. Jack asked me if there was a good place to practice, off stage, I set him up on a landing in a covered Atrium between the Fitzgerald Theater and the building next door. It was a joy to hear them jam and has inspired my work on my electric fretless bass ukulele.
