Well now I have to be up in the morning to catch Stephen’s appearance! This ‘back to real life’ thing is a double edged sword.

My husband’s maternal grandmother was called “Pie.” Because she was as sweet as pie. I wanted a cool grandma name, but my granddaughters insist on calling me grandma.

Not a word for the palestinian cause. For someone who preach for racial equiality and has a music band with black people called stay humans, you are disappointing. I know the producer is running the show. I waited for your return to the sullivan theater with impatience. Not a fan anymore.

My maternal great-grandfather’s nickname was Doc so we called them Grandma & Grandpa Doc. My brother was the first grandchild to my paternal grandmother who always called him a darling so all of us grandkids called them both Mammaw & Papaw Darling

“Ganja” beats Gaia, but yeah, half of the charm comes from the the failed attempts at Grandma or other common honorifics.

Plenty of fucking people have been “fully” vaccinated. That doesn’t stop COVID in its tracks, only stops it from killing you (probably)

I got my first Pfizer shot in early April when they were still only giving it to people over 60 (I’m 47), because I signed up for the end-of-day thawed leftovers deal. They called me at 3:30, asked if I could come right away. –My car had just gone to the shop for repairs, but like a miracle I had JUST THE DAY BEFORE received the electric scooter I ordered with Covid relief money, not as a toy but for situations exactly like this. It was raining, but I put that helmet on and zoomed to the arena where they were doing the vaccinations. I left feeling like A TOTAL EFFIN QUEEN, and after my second dose, QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE.

They had special vaccinated area seating… so that means unvaccinated were allowed and had their sections? ON the way to the concessions, then they mingled… what good was that? 🙂

My grandsons call me “Gummie” because the oldest one couldn’t say “Grandmummie” so it came out as Gummie. So far I haven’t heard of anyone else being called Gummie.

She wants a cool _grandmother_ name? Well, you know, in German, the word for “grandma” is “Oma,” and the word for “grandpa” is “Opa.” I think _those_ sound pretty cool.

Yes, insisting that you be in the room during birth is unreasonable. This is more intimate than a wedding and it’s bad enough it has to be in front of medical strangers. The mother-to-be gets to choose.

The BEST name is the one the baby picks for you. I wanted to be “Granny”, yes Granny, and from the day Angel was born I was only called Granny…. When he finally started talking I became Beedah. How he went from hearing “Granny” to saying “Beedah” I can only guess but Beedah I am. And it’s ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!

My daughter has since conception of primary speech has referred to my mother as ( Bunga) and though my Mom lived well past my daughters conception of a family tree she was alone steadfast in addressing her as ” Bunga”

This is the woman who said that Prince Harry refusing to name the person who allegedly made a ‘racist’ comment to him, was ‘touching’. The fact that, by not naming them, he smeared the whole of his family with suspicion, seems to have been lost on her.
