Even though Donald Trump has been banned from Twitter since January, his lies about election fraud continue to spread faster than a “covfefe” tweet. And once again, the Black voting community is suffering the consequences. Part 2 of 2.

Once a mormon handed me a card with an image of the sermon on the mound (apparently). I asked “what’s this?”. He pointed and said “that’s jesus.” Hahahahah

If you are eligible to vote then you should be given the maximum opportunity to do so. Any argument or action to prove that wrong is a direct attack on democracy/self government. It is functionally the same as apartheid or fascism.

The GOP is playing 4D chess against themselves. Showing how evil they are in trying to suppress minority voices will only motivate more people to vote against them at any chance.

I’d actually like to see the INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY act together against the very clear Apartheid intentions of American politics, much like they made South Africa into an isolated economic pariah before Mandela’s election! If America can’t behave like a decent, humane society, then they don’t deserve to join in with the rest of us!!

To republicans, making elections more “secure” means stopping as many people from voting as possible.

Why can’t the democrats have a consolidated type of counter to this. It’s like you have one evil command center for conservatives, and a disparate group of hippies doing their own thing on the democratic side

I’m glad the internet accessability of news from around the world finally exposes the us to everyone easily. it’s not a beacon of democracy or land of opportunity for everyone. this illusion holds true for a tiny minority of wealthy, white and straight peoole. mostly men.

The erosion of civility, justice & equity in voting can be traced (and source ed) to the GOP since the Nixon-Goldwater era.
While the insanity & cowardice is evident in the GOP, the insanity & cowardice of Democrats needs to be addressed as well. Why are Congressional Dems avoiding defining what constitutes a Domestic Terrorist Organization & the consequences of membership? Wouldn’t enabling (and inciting) sedition, insurrection & treason, as well as expressed dedication to destroying democracy in favor of a dictatorship & authoritarianism qualify as worthy of expulsion from politics, elections & governing?

When Republicans say they’re worried about “voter fraud” or “insecure elections”, they *always* mean “black and Hispanic people are voting, and we don’t like it.”

It’s too bad the Democrats don’t want to succeed, so that they can keep their donors happy, as Biden “said nothing will change.”

So…it’s not OK to give voters in line food and water but it _is_ OK for poll “watchers” to hassle voters in line. Does not compute.

It’s not just black voters, they’re making it harder to vote EVERYwhere, which makes it harder for EVERYone to vote. So the only ones left are those rich enough (remember, time is money) to have some one else do it for them.
Just last month I had to stand in line (partly in the rain) for over 2 hours to vote for the local school board, a pair of parents behind me got out of line and left when they realized that once in the building it was still an hour+ wait. They had kids they needed to care for.

Make voting compulsory and centralise its rules and this all is eliminated. Voting in Australia is such a non event. We all do it and move on. And buy a democracy sausage to eat.

Australia has mandatory voting for elections with fines handed out to those who don’t vote, perhaps America would benefit from a system like that. What Politician can resist a cash grab from those refusing to vote?

The Donald is areligious. I don’t really care, but his PRETENDING to be religious really creams my craw. For all we know, the universe is self generating. (I don’t mind relgious people, either, unless they say ridiculous things like “Jaysus-the God-Man will protect me from COVID-19.” It seems they have conveniently forgotten the song “The Lord Helps Those Who Help Themselves”. Funny, that.) And Baptists in Texas go to church TWICE a week – on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening – no wonder their kids do so bad on tests on Thursday, since they have been up until 11 pm.

The Jim Crow laws was written to give White voters simple thing like in English the sentences “like “the big dog jumpoed over the big lsrge dog” but to Black voters words in Chinese characters to read.
(And White people don’t read Chinese any better, especially in 1960.)

The problem of the the right to vote is that it is not constitutionally protected. Your ethnicity and your gender may not be used as reasons for voter ineligibility but that is not the same as the universal right to vote.

Samantha, (3:45) “changing the people who make our laws” …. that is a quaint idea, but realistically you should have said “changing the lobbyists who work for the elite” … those are the REAL creators of most of the laws of the last 50 years.
