I recently went to a western resort in Egypt..i noticed the women were all kind of big and heavily tattooed, the men were not. A lot of the women had short hair and were falling out of their tiny bikinis.
ReplyI live near Russia, and the traditional standards of beauty still apply. I can’t leave the house in my pajamas. I need a manicure, my hair smooth and fixed. Im american but have lived abroad for 13 years. My sister stayed in the US. She smokes weed, heavily tattooed, smokes, curses horribly. I realize not all Americans are like this, but from what i saw on vacation, women in europe are doing the same thing. It’s really ugly.
My 12 year old niece came with me on the trip and was dressed horribly, looking homeless, hair awful. I gathered she would be teased for trying??
If I hear one more commercial by my pillow I may have to get fruits and vegetables supplements

ReplyAmen. The bar for having any self-respect is nonexistent. I’m so sick of seeing ads, movies, models not up to a standard. And this so called shaming is ridiculous. It’s not shaming… It’s telling someone to reassess their appearance, outfit, makeup, weight, etc., to avoid negative attention. Don’t flaunt it if you don’t have it. There is no consideration for other people’s line of vision. Why is society glorifying the unsightly?
