One reason pets are so great for someone with depression is that they _will_ make you get out of bed. The cat has to be fed. The dog has to be walked.

I’m not sure exactly how to say this but Michelle Obama is a cutie pie. She is an exceptionally bright woman with a glowing personality it has perhaps been the best first lady that the US has ever had. She has absolutely no arrogance it is completely accepting of any criticism that comes her way period so perhaps if someday I were to meet her she would also let me call her Michelle.

It’s kinda crazy to think about the trip Steven has taken. I remember watching him as a “reporter” on the Daily show shortly after John Stewart took over from Craig.

I especially remember watching the episode where John was at a Party Convention (Maybe 2000 election?) So both Steve’s(Colbert & Corelle…sorry if spelled wrong) hosted for the first time. The guests were serious people who had only seen the regular show if anything, and they just messed with them D Ali G style. They were completely blindsided and it was magnificent!!

I remember thinking, “THIS should be a show!”. And it was years and years later. Unfortunately, by that time it was clear how he would be acting, but he still made the best of it.

I’m not a huge fanboy or anything, but seeing him talk to the Obamas, just made me think about how he went from a writer and side character, seized his chance on the Daily Show, and then ended up here. It’s quite inspiring. Lots of hard work and luck, but as Robert (Lonny Toon) Evans put it in one of my all time favorite quotes; “luck is when opportunity meets preparation”.

Thanks for the laughs Steve! As you probably know making someone laugh is often one of the best things you can do for them.

Michelle is a lovely person and I’m sure she means well but she is really not helping getting rid of the stigma that is attached to people with actual mental health problems. When I say actual problems I mean this is different to the low that some people have experienced during the pandemic (which is completely normal). What she is saying is offending to people with clinical depression. The message is, get up and do something. As if this is a choice for people with clinical depression. It puts the blame and stigma right on them because they clearly haven’t tried enough. If only they tried enough they wouldn’t be depressed. This is sending the completely wrong message!

She is always going to be “First Lady” Michelle Obama to me, I put the quotes because she isn’t technically first lady thats, Jill Biden. That being said I wont see her as anything other than “First Lady” Michelle Obama, just like her husband is “President” Obama. He wasn’t the greatest president, there was a ton of things that never happened during his presidency, thats really only partially his fault, McConnel shares the vast majority of the blame and he accepts it willingly and with that dumbass grin, but Obama is classy and he’s got style (even with the Mom Jeans). My mom compares “First Lady” Michelle Obama to Jackie Kennedy, because she always though of her as the first lady.

I think the happy middle ground for the Obama’s is Dark comedies. In those people are sad its a bit funny and then they die. Also after hearing their taste in movies I wonder about T.V. shows in particular Rick and Morty, thats dark but funny. It might not be serious enough though from the sounds of it.

Random thought: I kinda dislike the notion that if you like drama movies, you are taking yourself too seriously with your movie or being a snob. Some people truly enjoy movies that will move you to tears, talk about important events or subjects and make you think. I’m often in the mood to watch these types of movies. I watch them alone so it’s not like I have anyone to impress. There’s just nothing quite like a movie that touch your heart and stays with you for weeks. I watch all genre though depending on my mood, but comedies is probably my least favorite, simply because I find most of them unfunny. It’s just a matter of taste. But I must say, when I’m watching with someone I prefer lighthearted movies or series, unless they are REALLY into drama stuff. You don’t want the time you spend with someone to be serious and full of misery. lol

“Give yourself a break”, typical line from the hypocritical condescending rich. Last time I checked, ‘taking a break’ involved $$$, wither to just relax or to compensate for needing to earn rent, and certainly out of the reach of at least 90% of Americans.

I’m so serious when I say I could have desperately used Michelle’s words as a teenager. I thought everyone just had life figured out and I was left behind and alone. I just figured out this year that no one knows what they’re doing and it’s all improv and there’s no set formula for how to be happy. It sounds strange but I really thought that. Thank you for sharing your message here now.

WHO MASTERMINDED THE BIG PROBLEM AMERICA IS NOW FACING?

We all know about the debacle of the Nov. 2020, election. Who did it? The official reports came out a few months ago now, naming BRITISH AGENTS working out of London and Italy to remotely manipulate the voting machines by satellite and otherwise, to skew the election in favor of THEIR preferred candidate.

Cat Man Simon Parkes has stated in past videos that he come from a family of BRITISH AGENTS.

Now, Cat Man wants you to believe the highest American military sources have chosen him as a conduit for their “insider” information to be released to the general public. By positioning himself as such a special person, he has tens of thousands sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for the latest Simon “update.” As word gets around about his special position, more and more people watch, and more and more end up joining his organization Connecting Consciousness. And, more and more of those send him CASH DONATIONS.

So, due to his skill at making people believe he is special and a valuable source of insider information, Simon never has to work a real job, and can live comfortably on OPM (other people’s money).

Simon Magus has one up on Tony Robbins it seems.

First, a caveat: I LOVE Michelle Obama. She is an amazing human and I will always hang onto every word she utters. But this interview right here just proved that she has ZERO idea how depression works. “Depression” is one of those terms like “OCD” that people bandy about without knowing what all it actually entails. I would call what she had “The Blues”, which are normal and everyone goes through. Everybody gets sad sometimes, especially when times are hard; that’s just part and parcel of normal human emotion. Depression, on the other hand, is a deep hopelessness; it can be triggered by hard times, sure, but it can also just as often come from no logical reason at all. It is soul-sucking but it’s also self-aware, and that’s part of what makes it so awful. People who are depressed usually know exactly what’s happening to them but feel powerless to stop it. You become a spectator to your own life. It feels like being imprisoned in a deep pit where the sunlight and chirping birds and laughing children are all right above your head; you can see them and hear them and smell them but each time you claw yourself a few steps closer to the surface, you slide right back down to the bottom again.

Stephen gets it though. I could tell he wanted to keep that conversation going, but he was probably pressured by a lack of time and also wanting to keep the interview light.
