Fifty years ago, President Lyndon B. Johnson tried to bury Jim Crow by signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965 into law. The Voting Rights Act and its predecessor, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, fought racial discrimination in the South by banning segregation in public accommodations and outlawing the poll taxes and tests that were used to stop African Americans from voting.
Today, we still use “Jim Crow” to describe that system of segregation and discrimination in the South. But the system’s namesake isn’t actually southern. Jim Crow came from the North.
Replyrule of acquisition # 89:[It is] better to lose some profit and live than lose all profit and die.
ReplyPepsi is ok …
ReplyIt is not voter restriction. The new law enforces people to have a valid ID to vote. It limits the official drop boxes to 8. As far as passing out food and water to people will limit outside influences from talking to voters. Not to mention these changes are for all citizens not just black people. Too funny how democrats always use race as a selling point to get their ideas heard. They have been doing this for a century.
Replyso, the election was rigged and the solution is to stop voting… makes sense
ReplyGuys! Patent that strategy. Delta will definitely use that.
ReplyDelta: Red/Blue is a great idea. I wonder if they will ever start a Delta: Yellow in the future.
ReplyI fascinated by the fact that people still vote for republicans after this!
ReplyHe’s saying that Jim Crow is more American than what they’re doing in Georgia
ReplyDelta versions ElephantRed and DonkeyBlue were right there…
ReplyRemember ‘Freedom Fries’. That lasted a few months and then they were back.
ReplyJim Crow is alive and well in America unfortunately.
ReplyYou’re hair grows quickly.
Replyhonestly, I would fly on an airline with carbon offsets and vegan meals.
ReplyI love how republicans are saying that they are protecting freedom and capitalism when they are restricting voting rights and condemning companies with tax restriction. I’m pretty sure that is definition of lying to your self.
ReplyIf only election day was a holiday. The whole day could be a party and people could meet somewhere, eat and take water bottles with them before they line up.
Reply…y’know… I’m actually not against the idea of Blue Delta vs. Red Delta.
ReplyThe older I get, the feeling becomes stronger that the world is a giant kindergarden.
ReplyI have the feeling we should have stayed apes.
…..Did the law specifically say water? would giving coke be fine then?
ReplyI wasn’t really unhappy until I found out where Barbie’s really came from
Replythe last two mins are brilliant!
Replyi thought that in a democracy, voting should be as easy as possible. so when is the un getting involved?
ReplyRepublicans want to boycott delta? I thought they were against cancel culture
ReplyYou can’t “give water” to people waiting in line. But maybe they can “find water” laying on the ground.
Replyi would buy more coke
Reply“This makes Jim Crow look like Jim Eagle” 🤣
ReplyEagles are a symbol of freedom while crows symbolize evil.
Guess what I and 99.9999% of the human population are doing today, not watching baseball either.
ReplyBetter to win by cheating than to lose laying fair. We the DEM’s beat you once we will beat you again by cheating. Ha ha!
ReplyThe real danger is letting the state legislature have the power over results.
ReplyThere is no other democratic country were politicians meddle in cultural and social issues more than america. I see why they always talk about china
Reply*ONCE YOU GO WOKE, YOU GO BROKE* $100 MILLION DOLLARS is a huge loss for Atlanta, especially the low income areas of Atlanta. I honestly still don’t get it, you need an ID to buy alcohol and cigarettes, so what’s the problem? 🤔
ReplyI’m riding Delta Blue
Replywouldn’t requiring IDs make elections more accurate?
ReplyJim Eagle = Whitewashed Jim Crow, masquerading as American Patriotism.
Also, should be the name of an album, or something. You’re welcome musicians.
ReplyOk can someone explain whu this affect Republicans more than the dems?
ReplyDelta red‘s flight experience sounds much better than Delta blue‘s flight experience although my political position is more Delta blue. So, where do I book now?
ReplyTrump where not going to turn into a radical country…. Now minions go take the capitol🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
ReplyWow a plane company DELTA who makes you have a ID to get on a PLANE wants no ID to VOTE HOW CRAZY THAT SOUNDS I MEAN YOU NEED A ID TO DRIVE OR BUY A GUN YES LETS DROP ID’S FOR GUNS HUMM INTERESTING LETS APPLY IT TO EVERTHING YOU NEED A ID FOR RIGHT I MEAN ITS ALL THE SAME TO ME

ReplyDemocrats: 🤦🏾♀️🤦🤦🏻♀️🤦🏿♂️
Christ the lord has risen, he died on the cross for your sins. Salvation is a free gift given by grace once you believe.
ReplyI will now buy more Coca Cola than ever before,..AND…I will start watching base ball
ReplyI will BUY more Coca Cola!
ReplyI hope baseball and other corporations don’t forget about helping the less fortunate in Atlanta and elsewhere
ReplyJim crow laws were state laws dezigned to disenfranchize blacks from defending their civil liberties. What the president is trying to say is that this line of reasoning is more about trying to make all white people nervous.
ReplyDay after day, we have proof how disgusting the majority of the republicans really are!!
ReplyCorporations only pay 12% in T.A.X.E.S. get f$$k real.
ReplyOh yeah fyi… Im a pale faced irish American.
ReplyI knew you were going to go there with coke
ReplyI would love to see these Coke addicted people seriously try to get people to transfer to Pepsi never gonna happen. Especially if they put the Coke back in it;)
ReplyWhere were the corporations when the bill was proposed and being voted on? Oh, right, silent, letting their purchased politicians do the job they were hired to do…
Reply–
But now they “put out a statement,” which is the absolute WEAKEST protest possible.
To bypass the “you can’t give people water in the voting line” law, you can “accidentally” litter by leaving a cooler full of water unattended while you go three blocks away to tie your shoes.
Replyillegal to give folks food and water…
ReplyJesus must be so proud…
I really hate these Georgia laws. I think everyone should bring thousands of water bottles to hand out to other people. They can’t stop us all
ReplyThe us is a mess too much political drama ….
ReplyI’d like to fly Delta Blue, with Delta Red’s meal option.
ReplyDo we think we have equality in our country??? We have a long way to go.
ReplyThis is ridiculous 😡 making it a law not to give people food or water on a line?
Replyyo Atlanta was canceled by FX, don’t even joke😥
ReplyVoting should have most strict rules
ReplyThis is about as petty as it comes
ReplyThat delta add is so funny 🤣
Replyi disagree, coke is one of those rare things you can say on any corner of this planet and everyone knows what you want. they’ve tried boycott coke before and nothing happened.
coke responded because they wanted to.
ReplyRepublicans ” CaNcel CuLtURe is BAD!!”
ReplyWhat stopping people from bringing their own water and food? And also how hard is it to get an ID? These are genuine questions.
ReplyAs I understand it, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines have issued statements similar to Delta’s. I guess Republicans will have to do with Spirit and Frontier.
Reply“What are you in for?”
“I killed someone”
“I gave bottled water to thirsty voters waiting in line for hours on a hot day”
Replythey only came out when they knew we were boycotting in GA original message was not the same. Stay Woke
Reply5:12 Can someone please tell me how one can boycott UPS? You cant choose who delivers your mail.
Reply4:42 seconds. Sign language sums up my feelings on voter suppression.
ReplyYeah, like tRump will get by without diet Coke!!
Reply3:46 i was really hoping for spirit airlines joke there.
ReplyThis is amazing! We went back 50 or more years in time!
ReplySeriously what’s wrong with this new policy.
ReplyDems just wants to sell votes
Someone explain to me how legal checks for one legal vote per person is voter suppression.
Reply“the only people whose opinion’s might count for something – corporations” Love it, and so true.
Replyt**** probably doesn’t know diet coke is made by coca-cola. shhhh.
ReplyOh NOW you’re FOR cancel culture and boycotts and higher taxes on corporations. 🤦🏾♀️🙄🙏🏾
ReplyRepublicans …. lol
ReplySadly not so far fetched – one airline brand flying Democrats, masked and vaccine passports and the other flying Republicans, no masks, no vaccine passports and definitely not serving Coke!
ReplyOh my that parody commercial!! so funny
ReplyDelta red sounds wild😂
ReplyBlack peoples and immigrants can find an I.d
ReplyTo cash a check and take a bottle of there own water to the park or the gym but can’t eat or bring a bottle of water to stand in line to vote
And yes mail in ballets also need to show I.d to vote …..So people need to read the law and let the corporations leave Atlanta there have the democrats to blame
It’s actually a lot easier to fix: Make voting compulsory, like Australia does.
Reply“Alright, G.O.Phers, you raise our taxes, we stop supporting your elections” – HA!!! 😲
ReplyI’m not going to lie, DELTA BLUE sounds pretty nice. I’d love to fly with gluten-free options.
ReplyTrevor keeps honing that Southern accent…getting authentic! Greetings from Memphis, TN
ReplyWhere did Trump tweet from?
Reply“Atlanta to Alaska” 😂💀
ReplyMan, u missed out the Spirit airline joke during the Delta monologue
ReplyI’m a very liberal person, but guns and steak sound way more fun than veganism and nonfiction.
Reply“Come on Man”
ReplyWe are a socialist nation!
ReplyPolice, fire department, we don’t carry our own roads and bridges with us when we travel, unless your a RepubliCON.
Please add APPLE PAY for all your donations— I always pass on any— I got the Dems to add it to theirs— so please— its simple with no effort and you can get more impulse donations, it’s far less effort— thank you!
ReplyCome on Trevor, their are tons of floppers in the NBA lol
ReplyThe is no argument against the GA voting laws other than allowing for voter fraud.
Reply“Boycott everything that does not say “Trump”.”
Reply– Trump
Imagine unironically trying to punish a corporation for not supporting your voter suppression laws.
ReplyKemp should be ashamed, if the New Georgia Voting Laws were honorable, Kemp WOULD NOT have signed it BEHIND CLOSED DOORS! #BoycottKemp #BoycottGeorgia #StopVotingSuppression
ReplyAh ‘cancel culture,’ how the Free Market regulates bad corporate and governmental behavour…
ReplyMakes Jim Crow look like Tom Thumb? lol
ReplySo do we want corporations involved in politics or do we not want corporations involved in politics? Although the corporations took the side that I am on in regards to standing against the voting restrictions. As a persons who complains about how corporate America is too involved in politics, I can’t say that this is the correct answer to the issue at hand f
Replyhi Russia!!!
ReplyWell, if they’re boycotting Cisco, maybe they’ll be happy with Huawei 😉
Replyok, MLB, and NBA, sure
ReplyMLB claims their reason for moving the Allstar game to Denver was because the voting law might adversely affect people of color so they moved about a *BILLION* dollars in revenue from Atlanta (51% Black) to Denver (9% Black). The White people in Denver will prosper while the Black people of Atlanta are made to suffer. Is the leadership of MLB made up of White Supremacists?
ReplyA South African guy claiming not to understand what Jim Crow means?? Yeah, right.
ReplyTrevor made a mistake at 5:52
ReplyI just had a thought, republicans don’t wanna be a “socialist country” yet put backlash to the giant corporates that disagreed with them
ReplyJudging the GOP by it’s actions I’m inclined to say that the majority already suffers from hypoxia, so not dropping a mask when the cabin pressure is lost seems moot.
Reply´Blue delta headquarters is located in the cloud and would not return to America until racism is over’ wooow I laughed so hard here 😭😭😭
Replyup the volume bro like 15%
ReplySo we should just boycot all products from companies that do not speak out against the laws, right?
ReplyAmerica! Where voting is considered so undemocratic, the are making new laws against it
Replypaper boy wont be happy. lol
ReplyThe law says you are not allowed to “hand out” water, but does it mention anything about just leaving a package of water bottles unobserved next to the line, and not taking action when random people “Steal” from the said package?
