    I just love George Takei.

    Star Trek came on when I was a little girl. As a Native American, I was
    very sad, when I noticed that no NAs were in Star Trek, and had not
    survived to live in this future timeline.
    Alas, I soon learned that the genocide of the indigenous peoples was
    commonplace, and according to Gene Roddenberry, many ethnic & races failed
    to make it onto Star Trek team diversity.

    I got to meet Spock in 1972 at a TV station telethon in Seattle.
    I was 13 and so excited !
    And there was Leonard Nimoy wearing puka shells and an open Hawaiian shirt.
    Seemed… illogical. (But still so very cool !)
