On the 50th anniversary of Star Trek’s premiere, the legendary actor recalls his first day on set and the mission statement creator Gene Roddenberry shared with the cast.
His shoes though
50 years, and counting…
The man, the legend, the voice.
George is good, too
@Late Show Team: Thank god you upload whole segments and put the name in the preview. Just don’t do a Kimmel and upload all in 1,5 minute videos…
? G Takei
АМОК ТІМЕ… the 7 year itch and a half.
Interestingly, 1 year for Colbert as a TLS host.
Mr. Takei has an iconic voice.
I just love George Takei.
Star Trek came on when I was a little girl. As a Native American, I was very sad, when I noticed that no NAs were in Star Trek, and had not survived to live in this future timeline. Alas, I soon learned that the genocide of the indigenous peoples was commonplace, and according to Gene Roddenberry, many ethnic & races failed to make it onto Star Trek team diversity.
This man has an amazing Ted talk that anyone who finds history interesting should watch!
I’d imagine he’s still concerned about lengthy black teenagers.
inb4 rip george
I got to meet Spock in 1972 at a TV station telethon in Seattle. I was 13 and so excited ! And there was Leonard Nimoy wearing puka shells and an open Hawaiian shirt. Seemed… illogical. (But still so very cool !)
If you watched this before watching Jessica Alba fluff Stephen’s hair you might be wondering what the hell has happened to the it.
My man said let me recreate 60s action, Colbert you’re amazing.
spacer for my comment…
