ReplyEnding the pandemic affects low income households. For example, CALFRESH was adding more amounts during the pandemic. With the inflation, it’s getting harder to manage food budget. Moderna suggested charging $230 per vaccine, my understanding is that free COVID test centers and test kit from pharmacies are all paid by the government. So after May, it’s not free for those who still needs the test kit.
ReplyThe official death count for Covid in the USA is 1.1 million. The Economist (very establishment and sober magazine) estimates the actual death count at 1.3 to 1.5 million, considering “excess deaths” (deaths above the average of previous years). Translated, this means some states, such as Florida, didn’t count accurately. This would make the Covid death count higher than all US dead in wars from 1776 to the present. Worldwide, the Economist estimates the total at 21 million, give or take a few million (lots of countries didn’t count accurately, such as China, India, Russia, Brazil, Egypt).
