This #Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for the people who are acknowledging our country’s problems and addressing them. If we’re going to have a better future, we need to own up to our past mistakes. Here are our best pieces on reckoning with discrimination in America.

Reply“Either killed off or assimilated into mainstream society, and we’re still here.” Says the assimilated congresswoman.
ReplyThe fact that ‘Indigenous’ people still refer to themselves as ‘Indians’ just shows how they don’t care about ripping off another race’s identity.
ReplyBut, I thought Thanksgiving was cancelled.
ReplySo you can’t really blame Columbus for the diseases, he didn’t know he would spread them (germ theory didn’t exist) and it was pretty much unavoidable whoever made contact. Eurasian domestication of livestock brought alot of zooneses that Eurasian had built immunities too but Native Americans had no such immunity so any contact would rampantly spread disease. Also the diseases didn’t wipe out hundreds of thousands it wiped out millions.

Replyhey samby! discernment, is a very discriminat’ry practise! you, you’re really good, right? so i don’t gotta tell you that, obviously! hey, if the blue avians are really out there, they might have some real discriminat’ry mannerisms…but could we really blame ’em? i’m thankful i don’t have such great ‘discernment’ that i have no friends at all just yet, haha… i’m my own best, semi-solid friend, more often than not.. so i have some idea what that might be worth! so to speak… at least, that’s the idea… no, maybe it’s more a matter of conveniency… somethin’, anyways! thanks to all the good people, i was gonna say that first! there’s way more than i know of, i know-that-for-a-fact, so to speak
