Well, the extreme response if nations refuse to sign on for a global minimum tax on corporations is to say that companies operating out of those countries either can’t do business in our country, or they get an extra tax, like a tariff, on them equal to the tax.

What exactly will they DO with this toxic waste!!?? Here in NWI/ Illiana Wolf Lake Area, there has been some kind of a disaster dump into the waters. Fish, Duck, Geese, Swan and the reemerging endangered White Crane have taken a hit! Flocks of birds have DIED! I have yet to see a White Crane this Spring!! I know Human Life is more Important and all but, these Companies NEED to be held Accountable, for ALL OF THE DAMAGE they CREATE!!

Not surprising that they tell people to leave last minute and then lie and say the water is safe to drink. They have been poisoning our water killing may Indigenous people since 1492. I wish they would stop giving major companies corporate welfare.

The only other person who treats radioactive waste like that is Mr. Burns from the Simpsons.
So that’s how florida is trying to get a huge piece of the infrastructure pie. I hope it does not work and they have to go to the businesses that pay no taxes for help.

They recently enacted a law making it illegal to own large snakes or other reptiles that would be considered to be invasive and a danger to native wildlife. Yet they have no problem with toxic waste being on their land and in their waterways? This is despite there being responsible owners and breeders of the banned species. Yet turning everything radioactive is fine.

I have worked in a phosphate plant in Florida.
The waste is not surrounded by radioactive material. The waste IS a radioactive material. The radioactive materials were removed from the phosphate and dumped in the pond. The waste solids fall to the bottom and the pond dries. The process repeats itself and the pond might end up on top of a hill after a few years. That hill is the waste gypsum. When the mountain reaches about 100 feet or so, it gets covered in grass and looks like a nice hill. The only hills in Florida.

Sometimes hurricanes breach the pond and the liquid waste ends up say in the alafia River and carried into the Tampa Bay area, causing outrage. For some reason, it dies out after a few weeks and some assurances from the governor that it’s an innocuous waste.
Fertilizers are a big source of income in Florida. I don’t see how the fertilizer plants the would be closed as they pump money into entire communities in the state… And I am sure, a few politicians.

A worldwide corporation taxe proposed by the US. It’s weird years ago when some European countries proposed it, it was swiftly dismissed by the US, now they propose it as if their idea? I guess they see now how much money they’re loosing to some other countries…
